    Seat belt rattle

The front seat belts mounting are kinda loose, they rattle all the time. They're getting worse (I guess because of Michigan roads) and I can hear a little knocking right on my left ear. I'm so annoyed with these noises, but I would like to know if anyone has experienced/fixed this problem.

Pick up a t-50 Torx socket and tighten it up. Really easy to access.

I have experienced it. It seems to be a counter weight that moves inside the B pillar. These weights that swing let the belt sense hard braking, etc. I bought my X in Feb, 2016 and it was getting worse last summer but this year seems to have gotten quieter. Barely notice it now. I only hear it now when I enter a parking lot and the vehicle swings back and forth for a second.

Edit: You can try adjusting the seatbelt height adjuster on the B-pillar up. I remember doing that last year and it seemed to help with the knocking.

Mine went away completely overtime. At 11.5K now and all gone. Adjusting that sliding height adjuster seemed to have the most effect. Try what NGEN suggest with the torx...should work.

Where do you tighten up? The bottom or the top of the height adjustable slider?

There is no adjustment to seat belts. Nothing to tighten up. There is the shoulder belt height adjustment, on the B pillar. Don’t mess around with a vital safety restraint.

When I posted that response 3 years ago, I missed this was in the 500X section. Apologize about that. I was referencing if it was a regular 500x
