    Fiat Sales for November 2016

Fiat500USA.com Has Just Posted the Following:

Fiat 500 sales were up compared to the same month a year ago. This is the second month in a row the 500 has recorded a net gain over last year. However, this good news wasn't able to offset slower sales of other models.

We have the figures, plus a recap on November's news.

    Read about it here...

It's interesting to see the rise in sales for the 500 despite the popularity of large cars and cheap gas. It truly remains an iconic timeless design.

I still can't understand the sharp decline in X sales, must be the pricing and options.

I also wonder how much longer theyre going to keep the L around.

I have my 500L of course. But, the wifey has a 2016 Chevy Trax we bought new last December. I'm VERY close to talking her into a NEW 500X! I'm excited! lol. I love the Fiat's! I think my next purchase for myself, will be a NEW 500 Abarth! My son is in sales at a Fiat Studio, here in IL. He is doing very well selling Fiat! We are family, now!

It's good to see the 500 keeping a positive pace. It seems the 500X has rendered the 500L relatively market-less here (weird). I do see them around town. The 124 just started to move units in our area. Apparently, the A124 is selling the F124. I think FIAT USA ought to find a way to introduce the (new) TIPO range whether or not they pull the 500L.

Six years later, the 500 keeps trucking along. Not many cars that have been largely unchanged in six years still sell at a steady rate. Truly phenomenal.

6 years for the NAFTA variant...10 or so for the Euro version...nevermind the first 18 year stint from 1957 to 1975. Who you gonna call??

by a wide margin, 2016 will be the worst sales year in the last 5 years for both the 500 and the Fiat brand.

500 sales seem to be drying up and IMO the car is in need of a new platform.

Fiat wont even sell 16,000 500's this year, which could work if they were selling the 500X's, a car with a higher profit margin margin according to none other than Sergio.

sorry, but i dont believe these numbers make the 500 or the brand sustainable in this country. It would be different if fiats were ultra high profit margin vehicles.

even the "enthusiasts" , it seems, have lost touch with the 500....evidenced by the small percentage of them being sold as manuals vs (for example) the % of coopers being sold as manuals. I think this would be expected after the initial 2011-2012 surge of enthusiast type buyers, but I dont think Fiat has made the automatic 500's very palatable to the general consumer. case in point, selling a mini car that is rated lower in mileage than many mid sized sedans...even with low gas prices, this doesnt make any sense. I believe this, along with the very aged platform will contribute to the continued decline of 500 sales.

I dont think the 500x sales will decline much because, well, that would be hard to accomplish.

The 500 sales are on an uptick from where they were headed... I don't get your logic there. The MPGs (for the autos) may be disappointing, but I don't see other brands doing any better. I don't think that is a factor for anyone but the initial people who began moving toward the smaller cars and met the limitations of the modern internal combustion.

Could the decline in manual sales have anything to do with the fact the enthusiasts are holding on to their cars longer... after having moved from a standard 500 to the A500, maybe then, a larger 500 (L or X)? I know I've seen it plenty of times (even on this forum).

I agree about the 500X sales. There is no down from where they are.

This could all be moot if FIAT does, in fact, choose to move all 500 production to one location/factory.

I can't figure out with the 500X sales are so low. They literally had the american market in mind when they designed it so you'd think it will performing better...
