    Owner: pr0d1gy9 - 2012 Sport - Azzurro

    11/11/2016

    Hi All,

    After my 2012 Abarth was totaled last month I was trying to figure out a game plan on which cars I wanted and when I would be looking to get them. I know I stated a few times that I would be getting into another Abarth but I chose to go a different route because;

1: Abarth's around here are way overpriced and I was very lucky with the previous Rosso I found.
2: I REALLY REALLY want a 124 Abarth within in the next couple of years but don't like to buy new.

This led me to search for something that I know I would still enjoy driving. So I picked up this awesome 2012 Azzurro Sport yesterday with a little over 58k on the clock. The carfax stated that it came up from Florida in 2014 so I was a little bit worried that it may have unknown issues. I checked it out and some of the bolts on the exhaust manifold are rusty but overall the body and interior are in fantastic shape so I went ahead and threw down an offer. After all said and done I got it for 10k out the door.

Has leather, nav, spare tire, BOSE sound system and auto climate control.

    First day home

That is a very clean looking Sport. You may be the first ever FIAT 500 owner to go from an Abarth to a Sport. It will be interesting to see how the experience goes for you. I have been driving my 2012 Sport for four years now and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

I had a 2012 Azzurro Sport before the Abarth but I got to the point I couldn't really stand the lack of power. (Mind you I was climbing out of a Vette and into the Sport at the time).

Congrats on the Sport, since you really plan for a 124 it makes sense to spend less now to afford more later.

Congratulations on your Sport! I had a Prima which is built on a Sport model and I really enjoyed it. It was a nice driving car and I miss it - especially when I hit a bump!

    Thank you,

I know I know... but like I said, my game plan is the 124 Abarth

Thank you, It needs to get polished up a bit and I need to figure out what to do with the wheels. They seem to be de-laminating which is something I have never seen before because I thought they were clear coated. The experience so far has been good but like Tweak said, the lack of power is a bit dissatisfying but the overall experience of the car is still much better and unique compared to other cars out there. I am sure I will enjoy it and glad you are enjoying yours!

    Thank you,

Vette to Sport would be rough. It is a bit sad that I won't be able to pass people on a whim anymore but I am hoping I can get my mpg up into the low 40's to save a few extra pennies here and there. I REALLY want a 124 Abarth.

Thank you, The ride is pretty smooth and it drives straight so I am happy.

If you want mileage google up some "hypermiling".
I pulled 50 mpg regularly in a Yaris sedan using these methods.

I was consistently getting around 38mpg in my Abarth so I am hoping I can get at least 40 in the Sport.
