I'm pretty happy with the noise level. My 40 year old vw rabbit diesel was a bit noiser though... My '06 Audi wasn't much quieter than this in comparison. My must haves were the Tuner to open up the capability of the 1.4T - I chose OpenFlashTune stage 2, the steering wheel extension (still saving up for it), a nice stereo with carplay, led headlights, led running lights, and led fog lights.
Some nice to haves...I have the turbo and would like an aftermarket rear sway bar. I would also like the spare tire kit. I would also like a sturdier rear shelf. I don't put things on it but it is so flimsy that i'm afraid to leave it installed.
Nice. Which speakers did you opt? For the rear shelf, some have opted to reinforce the factory unit. I hadn't heard of steering wheel extensions. My "needs" aren't as cool.
At freeway speeds, DB can exceed 70 (somewhere between dishwasher and vacuum).
My '18 is in the works. I installed a Dashmat, 4 window tinting, dog "seat" liner, and removed rear seats and carpeted the deck, w/ 1/2" closed cell marine foam underneath. On the shelf are a 3rd brake light flasher, horns, side panel sound deadening, and speakers. (Head units cannot be upgraded.) I'll probably purchase an amp as well. I'm searching for a suitable Nav system, dog barrier, sill plates for 3 doors, and door protection strips (outside), but haven't found a source, yet.
BMC cloth drop in air filter. Gave me 2mpg more on the highway.
Will pay for itself in 200 years!

Must haves for me are:
0W-40 full synthetic oil (quieter, smoother).
3M matte black vinyl for airbag cover (to hide fingerprints).
Radio decals to cover worn buttons.
Anything but the stock Pop and Sport hubcaps.
Map lights and rear cargo light swap to LEDs.
Trunk close strap upgrade to leather.
Felt cargo liner removal (only do this IF you want a better exhaust note).
Adapter that plugs into AUX port to give you Bluetooth audio streaming for phones that don't have headphone jacks.
K&N air filter, gave us a 10 mpg city and highway increase and an intake growl (maybe because the old filter was going on 48k and sooty???
I don't have a car, or a FIAT, yet. But, we do have a 500 as a family car. It's a 2014 FIAT 500 1.4 MultiAir 105 Pop, 6-speed AISIN AS60T Automatic, Grigio & Nero, 15" steel wheels, and a white stripe.
105 hp - 100 lb-ft.
No big mods, except for one, a K&N air filter.

I got a DNA transmission mount in yesterday and got it installed today. I bought one with the street bushings. I've been on vacation for two weeks so it's hard to say how the car feels different. I'm done on mods until something new comes out.
