I think I may have misunderstood you...the only springs they offer are 2-2.5 in drop...are you saying they have a mild drop spring? Or are you saying their 500e springs alone would level it out?

I believe their springs, and an OEM front, would squat in the back?

It looks lifted with the fender gap...I really need to figure out how much I can drop this car.

I gained about 1/4 inch ride height with the 17's so I have a bit to play with now.
    Parts are ordered:
    Abarth front springs
Moog rear springs (hat tip to moosestang in a few threads elsewhere)
KYB rear shocks with reducer bearing sleeves
    Energy bump stops

This should drop the front slightly and level-out the rear.
Should have time to install in a week or two...Will post pics.

I would probably cutting any springs to avoid car bottoming out. A 1-1.25 inch drop is probably as much as you want to go. Mike

Yeah I think the moog rears (from an Maxima! LOL) should be perfect, based on the pics and threads I've read.
Brings the 5-finger gap down a bit, but doesn't eliminate it.

Cutting seemed like my only option for a moderate drop, until I stumbled across some posts/threads about the issue.

Parts are in, hoping to get it all installed later this week.
Will post pics when it's all installed.

    Here's what I've got in a pile:
    - Moog coils in back
    - KYB rear shocks
    - Abarth front coils
    - New strut hats
    - ST Swaybar
    - Energy rear bumps

Got everything installed, she's sitting a lot better now.
Moog coils that others reportedly have used, were too tall and stiff...it raised the rear of the car.

Thankfully, the guys at Madness just got some mild-drop coils in, so I went that route in the back.
Kudos to JJ for getting me squared away.

I'm happy with the look, and am happier with the improvement in how the car drives.
Hardly stiffer than stock, much more planted in the rear and the increased rear roll stiffness makes the car handle much more neutral...the front and rear are on the same page now.
Steering is much more precise, no more constant corrections on the highway.

As many here likely know, I was the first to experiment with lowering the 500e. I have done this mod to mine, and a handful of other 500e's, using the tried-and-true Abarth front/cut rear spring approach with different bump-stops. I recently gathered parts to do another 500e for a friend, but they got rid of their car, and now I have the parts ready without a car to put them on. Long story short, I am offering to do the mod to anyone nearby for the costs of parts and my labor. Takes an afternoon to do. If anyone is interested, PM me for details.
