There is no light for low coolant, so you need to keep an eye on it. A light means an overheat, and that is something you do not want to do.

    First Road Trip

Less than 500 miles on my X but I had to take a long trip today with 3 other people in my car. Honestly, I was a bit worried that 180 HP wouldn't be enough to handle 4 people at highway speeds, but the car did just fine. When it's just me in my X, I'm usually in 9th at highway speeds, with a kickdown to 8th if I need to pass or go up a hill. With 3 other people I found myself in 8th gear more of the time, with a kick down to 7th if I gunned it to pass. Still very responsive. This was a long trip - 6 hours, and the X was really comfortable and even fun to drive on some of the back roads encountered as we approached our destination. Mileage was an even 27 MPG for all highway. I'm sure that part of that was due to the car being fully loaded and part due to the fact that there's still some breaking in to be done. Overall, I'm really pleased. The 500 X is just a pleasure to drive on a long trip. This is a great car.

Oh, I was transporting my students, who are all studying industrial design. They LOVED the design, especially the interior.

It is really is nice for long drives, I regularly drive my 500X long distances (~600 mile round trip about twice a month) and I'm pleased with how comfortable the interior is, and how little fatigue I feel after hours and hours of driving.

I really agree with that. I went up to a business meeting with a client who is some distance away on Wednesday, and the trip actually seemed shorter than usual! Maybe it's just the new car vibe, but it sure was comfy.
