So a customer comes wants a part specifically designed to remove emissions equipment and then is upset because it doesn't pass emissions testing?
So... this part works like it should and I'm angry because it does what it's designed to do.

If that person truly is that clueless I wonder what really made the engine blow?
    Probably something incredibly stupid.

I know it can't be the cat or intake honestly. Prob tune this,is is why I still would do piggy backs. Might make few less hp but remove em and no trace left.

I'm just lost how this is my fault lol

Except that.....it wasn't proven that there was a tune or not. So basically this guy misshifted and he is blaming people. Or the dealer saw mods and saw and idiot that would be unable to defend himself....ergo, let's not warranty this (even though dealerships get paid through FIAT for warranty).

This begs the question of what tune was it running? PM if you don't want to post it publicly.

The rule of a WARRANTY is you get 3 years from fiat .you don't do I thing to mod the car for the 3 year warranty if you do your warranty is null and void . if you swap you wheels from 16 to 17 you have to have buy fiat wheels. any bump you hit on aftermarket wheels that cause major damage your screwed . ITS same with insurance they only insure a standard car at a low price. mod it you have to tell them and pay a higher premium or you total your car your payed zero . IN THE FIRST 3 YEARS DONT TOUCH ANYTHING ON YOUR ABARTH IF YOU WANT A WARRANTY. if you don't do has you like. WIRED TO THE COMPUTER IN THE WORKSHOP you will get away with nothing ,and loose everything

    Few things

I've had customers with issues. With my downpipe mod attached (rod knock and lost psi on engine in another) dealer covered since cat not touched.

One car had neuspeed intake and fiat of San Francisco covered since had carb number sticker.

Another guy had piggy back ecu and fuel pump went bad. I told him before he tows to dealer to take it off and he did and no issues and they fixed it but they did scan his computer he told me.

Now the flash tunes they can run the ecu and just like gm if you tune back to stock it still leaves the cycle there and will void warranty. ANYONE that gets a flash tune and company says "oh yah no prob with warranty" not true. If it is get the company to put it in writing that they will pay for damages if dealer picks up tune.... they won't do it since they know leaves imprint..... and if they say I'm wrong then have them put it in writing.

I know everyone is all about flash tunes but for few less hp you can use the piggy bank boxes (I made 240 whp with mine) and if there is a issue just remove it and done. For the few hp more at wheels it's not worth the issues but if you don't care about warranty then flash away lol

I'm just being real as **** here with you guys. I do a lot of these local cars and what some people get from the people selling tunes is wrong regarding warranty

We still do not know that the tune was the cause of the engine failure. This thread is sounding more like a "Piggy Back vs Reflash" thread. This is what tickled me in particular, and it's a moot point until there is an actual diagnosis:

Incorrect. You can change radios, you can tint windows, you can add a GPS unit, you can change tires, brakes, air filters, oils, etc, etc.

Absolutely incorrect again. This is the very reason the Magnuson Moss Act was created in the first place. Additionally, FIAT will not warranty damage to your car for road haza

Incorrect again. Please realize that laws are different in other parts of the world. In Ontario, the typical policy allows up to $2000 of modifications that do not significantly alter the operation of the vehicle <---that wording is the l

This is good advice for those that don't know how to play the warranty game. If you want your warranty to last it's full duration, keep it OEM and walk away. If you don't mind the risk, have at it.
