I've taken out a bunch of weight... but added some weight back in with the Autopower Cage.

I am still in the process of cutting out brackets and rivets that are no longer required. I have until March 13th, and I am working up to that day.

I've had the front end off my car about 30 times, so I've modified it to be quickly removed.

Quality is amazing. Design is the best out there hands down. Smooth radius bends, straight inlet and discharge on the Intercooler.
I know this is old but the ATM is far superior.

Are you still running the unichip?

Yes... a long time ago. Removed the A/C Compressor and all associated system. I run a 4 rib stretch fit belt. All it runs is the alternator.

Meh... it's lasted me this long with no issues or leaks. It still performs as good as ever.

Nope... I sold the Unichip and have been running the EC Stage 2 for the longest time now.

Right on. I’ve done a bunch of SMF weight loss but my next projects will look at battery replacement and stuffing big boy tires (Hoosiers). As for the EC FMIC, well, I had one and there were splits into the hose with less than two years on the car, so I opted to go for the ATM. There’s a big difference in spool time with the ATM which I wasn’t expecting and the heat rejection when you’re sitting is definitely better. I really wasn’t expecting that much of an improvement.

I ran 225/45R17 Hoosiers one of my seasons... I had to gut all the fender liners, widen/cut the fenders and flatten the body seams.

Other than a dial indicator it didn't take anything special to install a LSD in my Sport, I know your car has a different transaxle.

I'd love to have an LSD... But I'd want all the specific tools to do it myself.

Wow, what a beauty. I look forward to hearing the original and final weight.

If you want to dress up the dash or interior w/o much weight, you might check poster board. It's easy to work, fairly strong and takes paint. A 20x30" sheet weighs something like 4 ounces. (One source is https://store.flitetest.com but Office Depot used to carry it, too. Some of their planes have had apple cannon hits and the plane kept flying despite a hole thru the material.)

I think you can legally go with Lexan for side and rear windows (though not sure how much weight that saves). A friend did that on his race car about 25 years ago. He took his windows down to a local shop and they cut/formed the replacements but it wasn't cheap, IIRC. They'll scratch easier and he'd remove them for racing... when one of the rear popped out due to body flex. I can see why you might not want to weld the rear hatch, but IIRC they do that for stock car doors for extra regidity.

My SMF build heavily inspired by BigDaddySRT. I was surprised to find that I’m not as light as I originally thought. So far I’ve removed 83.4lbs from the car. I’ll leave the meth tank installed for autocross but I’ll empty the fluid when racing nationals.
