A couple of quick questions. I am thinking of purchasing the Eurodrive for my 2014 Abarth. 1) Am I reading the website correctly that it will take almost 2 hours each time I want to take the tune on and off? 2) Does this also function as a pedal tune or do you still use both? Thanks, Mark

The extended time limit only applies to the 2014. I have done several 2014 models and they take about 75 minutes. 2012-2013 takes about 25 minutes, 2015-2017 take about 20 minutes. I know it's crazy. It's just an odd year for the 2014 ECU. As for throttle position, there are adjustments made to help simulate a pedal booster does. However, for even better response for that, I would recommend the Euro+Drive Pedal Pro. We run the Euro+Drive Phase 3 NGEN Tune with Pedal Pro - car is a monster.

Whatever route you go with Euro+Drive, you won't be disappointed. Let us know if we can help.

I'm not going to convince you to mod or not mod your Abarth. I will tell you that the Eurocompulsion tunes are the best on the market as they're true ecm flashes and not "signal modifiers" as a piggyback module would be. It's not just the gained power but also the driving experience. The Abarth simply drives better with the EC tunes. I'm running their phase 0 tune in normal mode and their phase 2 tune when you press the sport button. As you mentioned, a stock Abarth is "peppy," but a tuned Abarth is bonafide quick (I won't say "fast" because I too have owned and do own FAST cars). It's worth it, but it also depends on how much loot you want to invest into your Abarth.

Phase 0 = 192 WHP @ 5400 RPM / 206 WTQ @ 3600 RPM (can be used with stock vehicle w/ NO mods / 91 Oct minimum)
Phase 1 = 227 WHP @ 6000 RPM / 244 WTQ @ 3800 RPM (Intake, Spark plugs gapped at .020 & 91 Oct minimum required)
Phase 2 = 232 WHP @ 6100 RPM / 251 WTQ @ 4250 RPM (Intercooler, Intake, Spark plugs gapped at .020 & 91 Oct minimum required)

You'll receive the following tunes from Toby at EC;

- Stock file
- 695 Tribute Ferrari tune
- Phase 0 tune
- Phase 1 tune
- Phase 2 tune
- And (1) DUAL MAP in which you must fill out a form listing your current modifications. The dual map allows you to run one tune in non-sport mode and one tune in sport mode. I currently have phase 0 set to non-sport and phase 2 set to sport mode.

This information was extremely beneficial, it's shocking how much these cars can put down for a 1.4L! I know that there is a pops and bangs tune currently available, however can EC give me a map tuned to run E85? Also, not many dive into the topic of running E85 in this community. Is there a way to make the abarth interchangeable between e85 and 91 pump gas. I know ATPTurbo offers the drop in injectors, but I'm assuming you can strictly only run E85 with these. Am I wrong?

Just to let you know I have a 2014 Abarth with EC tunes: Phase 1 non-sport, Phase 2 sport.

I can't remember the last time I uploaded the tunes, but I estimate way less than 75 minutes. Maybe it's just me, but I don't notice the time, really.

I've got 131,000 miles on the car and it runs great. Really great. Can't imagine it without the tunes, makes a huge difference.

I emailed Toby a long while back to say his efforts were greater than Moses parting the Red Sea!

I know this is old but recently saw a post saying that the MPX Throttle Body isn’t compatible with the EC tunes. What can you tell me first hand?

No problems. I gave Toby at EC my list of mods and nothing was said about it being incompatible. The MPx Throttle Body was installed long before tunes were available. I wouldn't mess with the throttle body now. Same goes for the lightweight pulley - just had the original FIAT one put back in. No real gains methinks.

The issues with the throttle body aren't really compatibility but reliability and utility.

1) Nobody has shown any dyno benefit from the bored out throttle body on these cars.
2) They tend to fail at a much higher rate than stock. When they fail you get a throttle error code pop up that won't go away.

Since there's not a measurable benefit, AND they're not reliable, people tend to just say not to use them.

Now, if your tuner says you can get a benefit from the ported TB then go for it. Just know that they do tend to fail at a higher rate than stock.
