Fly1 Motorsports Custom Splitters / Skid Plates!

Fly1 Motorsports is pleased to announce a new product line we feel will have a wide application! Our custom splitters provide protection of your front bumper/lip; and can be mounted forward to give the track splitter look. We can incorporate splitter rods into the design if desired. These front splitters can be fabricated with side extensions; and we can also create side skirt and rear bumper splitters as well!

The information below should answer most of your questions about our new custom splitters:

    1. Material - Alumalite (two thin, but strong, layers of aluminum with a solid core). Overall width is 3MM, and comes in various colors (most popular being gloss black). The splitters can be wrapped in 4D carbon fiber vinyl or even real carbon fiber, if desired. All of our splitters come with a finished rubber edge trim.

    2. Application - Double sided tape to secure positioning, followed by self tapping screws to secure attachment. Local installation available for SoCal residents

    3. Ordering Process: a) PM us with a picture and description of what you want us to create so we can provide a quote; b) send us an accurate trace of your lip, bumper or side skirt on cardboard or butcher paper (we will develop a catalog over time); c) let us know if you want the skid plate to extend beyond your bumper or be flush, and if extended, by how much; c) we will fabricate the custom skid plate and ship it back to you

    4. Turnaround: Will vary based on production load, but on average 2 weeks or less from when we receive your trace.

    5. Pricing: PM us with your requirements; but our pricing starts at $300 shipped

Here is a pic of a custom splitter w/ side extensions on our shop Abarth:

Below are some splitters we've fabricated for other platforms:

I like the Abarth example offered!

    Few questions...

How much is the cost of the one you have pictured on your Abarth?

Is the front an inlet for air and where is it directed if it is functional?

How would the splitter rods attach and I assume they'd be 2, one on each side right by the FMIC intake area of the bumper?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the good words Tweak!

The splitter on our shop Abarth with side extensions, in gloss black with edge trim is $350 shipped.

The way the splitter pairs with the RRM Forza front lip does create a tunnel for air inflow to our brake ducting system.

Finally, as for the splitter rods, they can be mounted to the bumper anywhere that is cosmetically pleasing. For daily driving this is more than sufficient. We will be mounting some this coming week as an example. For proper track use, you could mount them to the metal frame/crash bar to assure a solid mounting point, but this would likely require cutting some part of the bumper for access.

    Hope that answered your questions!

You answered all I needed and the price is nice...now I may have found something else to save for down the road. So few more questions...

-What would the same setup be in Carbon Fiber?

-Also alternatively in CF wrap since the actual CF is likely to really push the price ^^^.

    - I see adhesive and self tapping screws...any chance this can be made to use some (or all) of the existing holes under there possibly? (Hate drilling holes if avoidable).

    Thanks again!

Same setup in real CF would be $650 shipped. With 4D CF vinyl wrap would be $400 shipped.

With the lip on our shop car (and I assume many aftermarket lips) there are not enough factory mounting points to hold the splitter securely. That's why we recommend self tapping screws. Further, it allows for total freedom in how you choose to mount it, as opposed to being stuck to a set mounting position.

All that said, if you send us a trace with markings of where you want holes drilled out for mounting, we are happy to drill them for you!
