Bayless actually had a crashed abarth in his shop for a customer who wanted to transplant it into his X1/9, said it wasn't worth it. Some customer in Canada ended up buying it, hoping to do the project, but like you said, far too many sensors and electronics to make it feasible
There's a guy here in columbus who autocrosses his K20-swapped X1/9, thing is a freakin beauty. I think he's got it down to like 1600 lbs, and whatever hp he has the K20 at, i think somewhere around 230 or so
That has to be a ton of fun in an X!
