Another Bilstein Fiat... NOTES FOR GOOD RIDE

Kit customer got from me. I sell the bilsteins for 975 shipped.
    http://www.tbssowners.com/store/inde...&productId=246

Been lagging on posting cars I've been doing so ill put this one up I did today. I just want to make clear YOU HAVE to cut the rear bumpstops in order to get a good ride or rear will just bounce on the bilstein coilovers. I tell this to all my customers when buying this kit from me or I automatically do it to the local cars I do the install on. More travel equals better ride.

This car i set the rear to the lowest position on the mounts and sits at 24 1/4 from ground to fenderlip. In front I set the lower mount to lower hole hieght at 10 7/8 inches and sits also at 24 1/4 from ground to fenderlip. WIll drive about 300 miles see how she settles then if needed lower the front more

    Cut bumpstops

Tony thanks again, I love the Bilsteins already. I'm looking forward to sharing more insight after a few days.

Hmmm, I did not cut mine and find no issues...my rear height is close to what you reported but my front is a little lower. Once it is back from the shop I may have to check into adjusting the height some anyway so maybe afterwards this will be more of an issue.

yeah check out the rear at ride height not much before hits the upper mount on frame. Just like the KW or suspension techniques coilovers same deal. I like to have more travel in rear car will feel better also.

Hope I'm not hijacking your thread but would Bilsteins or Koni's offer improved ride/handling on an otherwise stock '13 Sport? I'm not interested in lowering the car ... I live in snow country and have got temporarily stuck once already stuck once already this winter.

If you want to keep stock height i woudl start off with rear konis and my bumpstops. Thats what i usually sell and install for guys that want to start easy. Doing those 2 things in the rear makes a big difference on ride

Have you tested the modified stroke by removing the spring? I have the shock and springs close to me right now and it looks to have about 3.75" of stroke and the bump stop from Bilstein gets it very, very close to that.

You will bottom out on bumpstop before shock bottoms out. Also im.working on some shock relocators so shock won't be at horrible angle but more verticle
