Jeff, did you run the "step 1" file and get an XML file back?

When I do it, I get the "ZZZZZ" configuration code, which probably means "don't give this poor fool any software updates"...

Yup, did the "upgrade" to get the file and the initial upload resulted in no updates available. I then started pasting in the various codes in place of ZZZZZ to try to force an upgrade. The results are what I posted above.

I just got done doing some digging through the contents of the CAB files with a hex editor, as well as screwing around with the install.inf.

First, I've determined that the 2015 Abarth uses the new(er) (2nd gen?) Lauberhorn convergence system, by the fact that only install.inf files with [Lauberhorn 6.0] work in any capacity.

Second, that UAnotAl (or variations thereof) message that pops up in Greg's log when the upgrade fails corresponds with this string "83_versionCheck::CarNotAllowed: Exiting installation"

There's also a bunch of registry keys included in the strings, but doing anything with that would require getting access to Blue&Me's internal filesystem.

Edit: Also, all the executable files inside are digitally signed by "Fiat Auto S.p.A." with a certificate issued by "I.T. Telecom Global CA" so unless someone can come up with the private key, there's no modifying the software. What could be interesting though, is cracking open the unit and finding where the serial headers are, see if you can't connect to it with a debugger.

Just got back from the studio, I had the dreaded "menu button doesn't work" issue on my 2015 Abarth. The rundown they gave me was that they did a proxi alignment which fixed the button but left the speedometer blinking. Then they did a hard reset of the ECU (I think) which solved the blinking speedometer, and everything seems to be normal now. There is a software update available for the A/T Abarth that address the issue, but apparently there hasn't been one released for the manual yet, which implies that the issue is not just in the radio.

That sucks. I have the dead menu button also. My note 4 still connects but for some reason it asks to copy the address book everything I start the car. The day I planned on taking it in to the studio everything started working again, for a couple of days.

There's a setting to allow it to copy and store your address book, I think it's only available when you first pair the phone.

dead menu button here, s5 still pairs, they replaced the media interface box once and it started working again but failed after 2 weeks.

A new TSB was released to the dealerships today addressing the inoperative Blue & Me steering wheel buttons. TSB 08-049-15 applies to FIAT 500 vehicles built on or before April 22, 2015. They probably haven't checked their internal email system yet. The TSB was just released this afternoon.

I have actually had my whole BCM replaced a few weeks back related to this issue. So would that not have resolved the issue?

Went to my Studio,

they had no clue about the TSB

they again replaced my BL Module with the "most recent" one they have. The button works again but not sure for how long.

Several dealers are doing this because they do not understand the nature of a "software problem". You want to make damn sure, as well, that they didn't put a 2014 BCM to "solve" the problem, which is what one guy's dealer did, because that means you could end up with other issues (including loss of A2DP bluetooth audio function).

We validated this time with the service manager that the module revision number matches the latest one available.
