It sounds like it could be a transmission issue or a problem from the car sitting for a while. It's a good idea to have a mechanic check it out.

Does the insulation on the rear vent quiet down the cabin significantly?

It helps but it's probably not as quiet as having the rear seat and that little cover in place. On the other hand, the noise that seems to come through is the sweet exhaust note, so I actually kinda like it.

Very cool have to try this out oh I just noticed you have the pattern for with or without the sub woofer cool thanks... what is that expose wire and black panel when the seat is removed? I am thinking of doing a raised piece of board like a box for the sear kit to keep from touching the wire and panel (which I think has something to do with the gas tank sensor???) the cover it with carpet or a piece of diamond plate aluminum

I just did this modification this weekend, hoping to put a halt to my big aging dog jumping onto the front seat. I think he's trying to tell me that the back bench is getting a wee bit cramped for him. The utility mat I bought is still off-gassing, so my pooch still visits the front seat, probably wondering what's happened to his back rest!!

BUT... I came here to give another tip. (I don't think I read it in the comments.) My dog, like many dogs, likes to dig around before he sits, which means that the utility mat kept moving around. I used velcro to keep the utility mat down. Where the added mat touched the trim, on each side of the tank in the front, I used both velcro sides; where the added mat went on top of the existing carpet, like in the back cargo area, I just used one velcro side, since it "hooked" onto the existing carpet.

Cool. Now the rest is training... and he'll still be in the front seat if left alone in the car. I use one of those "dog hammocks" (dog car seat cover). My dogs love the extra padding and it gives him a place to rest his head when we are traveling.
