I know there was a thread about tools a while back that also got into jacks, stands, etc. I'm looking to put together a tool kit for the car and am wondering what size sockets/torx/allen etc you have encountered while doing any upgrades/repairs on your Abarth. Normally I'd throw a bag of everything in the spare tire well or something but with limited space in the Abarth I'm trying to pare down what I don't need. If a 10-piece metric socket set only has 4 sizes that are needed I don't want to carry them all. Some of these may not end up living in the everyday bag once identified but my goal is to have one tool bag just for the Abarth and work out of that so I know if I'm missing something.
I'll update the list with feedback, let's see if we can come up with a complete list of sizes needed
So far I have
Sockets:
7mm - fuel door
10mm - intake hoses/engine cover
13mm - battery tray (for ECU removal)
17mm (in 1/2 drive) for wheel lugs
21mm (suspension)
27mm for oil filter cap
*please note if any of these had to be deep sockets at all
Obviously with the size range these will likely need 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drive to be a complete set, likely with some extensions for each
Wrenches:
10mm for battery terminals (could use socket as well but wrench seems easier)
12mm for wheel studs
Torx:
I've seen T-25 for interior bits, not sure about others
T-50 for rear seat delete kit
E-18 torx for suspension bits
Allen:
5mm (from short shifter install)
6mm was mentioned but I don't know what it is for
Obviously appropriate pliers, standard phillips, small flathead, etc. Some might say a crescent/adjustable wrench but I'd rather have the correct size end wrenches than bust one of those out.
