Dare I say it has a bit of an Opel Kadett look to it? In my mid-teens, I thought that was ONE COOL car! Same for the GT until I tried to sit in one!!!

There was an Opel Kadett that I walked by on the way home from junior high school. Always looked forward to seeing it. I wasn't an Opel guy, but I appreciated the uniqueness and flavor. American cars became so bland and boring back then and the French, German and Italians cars were exciting and interesting. Even now, you'll still find some cool details on these 'old' cars.

My first car was a 69 Opel Rallye Kadett in Red. I bought it after my dad nixed the idea of letting me buy a Fiat 850 coupe. At 16 that was probably a good idea. I drove that car as fiercely as you can and it held up through all of it. Well mostly. There was that little incident of running into the tail end of a nearly new Mercedes.
So here it is 45 years later and my father is once again wondering about my logic.
