I'll end up getting bored one of these weekends and take a trip down there an see what I can come up with, I appreciate the advice Norcal SS.
Lathe? You can't chuck the downpipe up and spin it in a lathe. You could fixture it in a mill and use a boring head to open it up and then hit it with a grinder to get a smooth transition on the inside. Although I think a skilled metal worker could do a fine job manually with a large grinding wheel alone.

Actually, yeah you can. You put the bit in the head and the piece in the fixture. An automated milling machine would be best, but I don't have one of those in my back pocket. Norcal SS did it with a die grinder, from what I remember several pages of reading ago anyway.

How difficult is it to remove the DP? How much to have this done if I ship it up to you? Thanks.

just a quick update...after more than a month or two with the mod, all i can say is ZOMG best mod ever. At cars and coffee, a group of guys called bullsh!t when everyone was sounding off their exhausts. I had to show them my cat and then they said 'whatever, you've obviously gutted it out'. I stopped trying to convince them the cat was still there.... best sounding exhaust ever lol

downpipe is not hard to remove. Also a local shop can do the same thing. I charge $150 to weld it and open it up.
