Wasn't a criticism, it's just a mental block I have when thinking of messing with the ECU on the car. My own sanity would benefit from seeing 6 months of real World owner usage. I'd certainly be on board after that. Warranty's not an issue for me as I'm down to the lower end of mine anyway at 60k.

And I wonder why that is? Might it have to do with the large group of people who own NOTHNG from Road Race that make it their life's purpose to stir the pot and discredit despite NOT owning a single Road Race product?

Here is my view. I bought the U3. It pissed all over my TMC. What more do I need to know? Recent provoked events aside, I'm happy with my purchase. Because it WORKS AS ADVERTISED and it REALLY IS THAT GOOD!
Ok, why would any owner here WANT to discredit RRM? I don't really care, I just know I personally wouldn't hand any of my hard earned cash to them owing to spurious claims and the way they conduct their business on here. I don't believe I'm "trying to discredit them" at all. I'd like MORE vendors, not less as it helps everybody, no matter who you shop with. Everybody is both entitled to their own opinion and entitled to not subscribe to the opinion of others. I think it's great you love your RRM box - just the same as I'm 100% happy with my MM box. It`d be boring if we all liked the same stuff.... I just have issue with certain vendors methods and spurious, over inflated and unproven claims. I`m an arse dyno guy myself, numbers don`t matter as much to me as what I feel when driving. Again, different strokes and all that!

As for bad products, I`ve searched and found a small number of ssues with a couple but nothing that universally denounces anything as awful.

I don't think anyone does. RRM often makes big and spurious claims and when called out on unsubstantiated claims they find it easier to claim they are being persecuted than to own up. It happens time and again. It's unfortunate because I hear they make some nice mods.

You can repeat all day that all the proof we need is in the testimonials but in the world of auto forums shills and sock-puppets abound. A testimonial doesn't really prove anything if trust doesn't exist between the vender and the consumer. That's why this shootout has captured the imagination of the readership. I look forward to the results. RRM could drop the price of the U3 to $400 and I'd still wait to see the results before buying any device.

can we just close this thread. By what they said recently pretty much shows that they will go to slander people to just try to make themselves look better. Products they sell im sure are good but the person on here that works for them that says the things he does really brings the company down.

MOds or whoever please close this thread down. I will just keep results in my vendor section of the shootout.
