    Modding OEM Downpipe.

I charge $150 dollars for this mod and can get more info in my NORCAL SS vendor seciton. YOU WILL NEED TO BUY A VIBRANT 2.5 GASKET when doing this or a 2.25 depending on what opening you want. Also im offering a exchange program. $650 will be chaged to you and once I get your good core I will refund you $500. So you will have no downtime.

Lots of people here want to pass emissions and get better performance and the stock one is more than up to the task. If you look at the oem downpipe its MASSIVE in size EXCEPT at the exit where it goes to about 1 7/8 at the opening but above that goes up to like 6 inch round cat.

My mod consists of just filling in the area above the downpipe and then opening up the hole to match. If your running a stock exhaust its a waste of time to do this that being said here are a few options.

    OPTION 1
You can open up oem downpipe to 2.25 inches and use the magnaflow cat back i have here
    http://www.tbssowners.com/store/inde...&productId=225

The magnaflow goes from 2.25 inches for about 2 feet to a 2.5 inch set up all the way back

    OPTION 2
You can open up the oem downpipe to 2.5 inches and run the NEUSPEED cat back section here
    http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/showt...uspeed-Exhaust

The NEUSPEED is 2.5 flange back just the magnaflow back section i feel flows better which you can see in the pics.

LETS move onto the oem cat
The stock one flows good only downside is the exit so here we go

    stock inlet 2 7/8

pipe after inlet OD 3 1/8 INCHES

    CAT OD 5 1/8

And here is the killer oe exit ID 1 7/8 INCHES

    PORTED 2.5 VS STOCK

Here is a pic of the finished version

Once again id like to say DO NOT do this if you have stock exhaust waste of time and Ive installed the mangaflow on my car and deff mid to top end performance increase and ive installed the neuspeed on others also and same result. I feel due to the way neuspeed does its rear piping the flow of the magnaflow and neuspeed is pretty close. Just depends on if you want to spend the extra cash.

I do these cars for fun and this is one of those projects I feel guys like me who want good hp on least amount of money spent is well worth it. If you have questions just ask guys im always around to help.

I hope you dyno it before and after... otherwise sounds like a waste of time VRS buying a pre existing aftermarket downpipe. What do you plan on gaining, 5hp?

I think the Mission he is trying to Accomplish is an Improvement in Exhaust Flow, and remain Emissions Compliant.

None of these "aftermarket downpipes" come with a CARB Certfication.

2.5 exit vs 2.25 of other aftermarket ones im sure will flow great. Im getting all this lined up before I do a torx tune. Ill have a oem downpipe which will pass smog and visual.

I will have a 2.5 exit on oem downpipe which will be better flow then having a 2.25 exit.

I will have a full 2.5 from downpipe flange to back of car. The oem turn is 1 7/8 that is a big bottle neck. Look at the 2.25 upgraded part for the abarth in the for sale section. That alone would make a difference.

I dont see spending 350 on a downpipe that wont pass smog and wont pass visual and only has a 2.25 exit where im going for 2.5.

A shop will be able to weld this up also easy. I know a few guys here work on their cars so just trying to save people money and smog headaches. Going from 2 inch oem to 2.5 there is no way will hurt power.
