I am onboard with eliminating the horn. I was shocked when I heard it because I hate it in other peoples vehicles.
My ford will only do it if you hit the lock twice in short period of time.

I think this issue is related to the 3rd party alarm fitted. I have one like many do, but no manual on it, and it has a button but no light.
I'll be back at the dealership to figure this out.

I tested this double click thing last night And it does arm the alarm. Here is what I did to test it: stopped the car, opened the door, double clicked the lock button, and closed the door. The lights blinked one more time(as stated). I gave it a 20 count and opened the door. Alarm went off immediately. I have a '13 A Barth. Hope that helps.
Sorry I meant that when it armed, it also locked the doors. I grabbed the handle from the inside to open the door, which set off the alarm.
OK, first this is a 500e forum, but there's hardly anyone with an "answer" that has a 500e
I have a 2014 500e.... whether the door is open or not, the first press of the lock button beeps the horn... the second press does not matter at this point, already beeped.
So the other cars that are not 500e's seem to act differently, as well as apparently some that have an aftermarket alarm.
I removed the "Karr" "alarm" that was installed by the dealer, who of course tried to hold me hostage to remove it or "activate" it... another separate topic of dealer BS.
Anyway, it seems that for sure on a 2014 500e you cannot disable the beep pulse to the horn. Yes, the air horn replacement works because the pulse is so short the air compressor won't respond.. of course in normal use, you will get that delay too, which I don't like, when I honk, it's because there is a problem.

Anyone with a service manual, and locate the trigger wire from alarm module to the horn? I hope that isn't all can-bus now...
