    Boomba Racing Check Valve

Just finished up the installation of my new Boomba Racing check valve. Got to say, it's one heck of a nice little mod. Boost is holding nicely now and the car pulls much better. Quite a drastic improvement for such a small mod.

Very happy so far with the results. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't throw a CEL

Hi Stacey, Dylansi has one in his car and has thrown a cel code: P1CEA. It's like the R/R HF Cat DP, hit or miss with the cel. I may hit you up for more details one day if I am up to doing this mod. Good luck!

Ok..... what a fun drive into work!!!!

Not only did I install the check valve yesterday, but I also did a couple of other mods. First of all, Scorpion King and I removed my TMC ECU. Secondly I added in a Sprint Booster. At first I was a little sad and thought I would be missing the added power from the TMC. I am installing a Road Race ECU next week, but since I already sold the TMC I had to pull it out.

Gotta admit.... not missing the TMC. AT ALL. Man it was a fun drive in today! Boost hold is insane and that little Sprint Booster on Race Mode really makes the car a ferocious little beasty!!! Loving these mods and I cannot wait for the RRM ECU!

Routing and placement of valve def different i.e. on different lines and confusing to me. Does it make a diff? Same results? Any downsides?

No. The Boomba is rather large and long so you need extra hose to install it. Everyone has different ways to install it. I basically copied how TrevC installed his based on the pictures he posted in the "Free Horsepower" thread. Check out post # 290 here: http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/showt...espower/page29

Only thing you need to make sure of is the direction of the check valve. It shows an arrow on it and it should point in the direction of air flow towards the large canister it plugs into.

It's the same routing/direction, etc. The difference is only that on mine, I did a "loopty loop" of the silicone hose under the battery tray and cross back over the same silicone before going into the charge pipe. RedRed's is more elegant and probably the way I would do mine if i did it again. His just makes a giant 'U' under the battery tray, such that there the silicone doesn't need to cross over (and touch) like mine does. I had to do it the way I did because I had a plastic check valve in prior, and the way I had the OEM hose cut at the top of my picture made it such that I had to route the loopty loop like i did. Also note that my pictures is rotated 90degrees from RedRed's. Mine is looking at it standing at the front of the car/engine bay. His is oriented as if photographer was standing on the driver's side quarter panel of the engine bay looking down...
You can do it however you want, really... as long as the arrow on the check valve is pointed the right way, you are good to go (arrow points towards the charge pipe nipple, airflow wise)

Here's a clearer, non-instagramed photo of the install:

Hey redred, just sent you a PM... Your RRMS ECM will arrive on Monday so you will have the added power in a few days, then all day long.

    Re: Boomba
I have been CEL free for many, many miles and TrevC also experienced a CEL, one time, on the way home from the Dragon run and never again; therefore, I would not be so concerned. I know each engine is different and hopefully you will be CEL free as well.

    Have fun.
