Googled for the owners manual and found it on line, looks like page 23 shows how to charge it: http://www.fiatusa.com/download/pdf/...BEV-OM-2nd.pdf

IMO, the Studio should have explained the charging process when you took delivery of the car. That SHOULD be part of the delivery process.

Oh! You guys are so mean. Have you all been saving up the electric car jokes for awhile? I laughed anyway. Especially the siphoning off a Prius.

So, Danny, with the plug, it looks like it goes through a series of checks at first, thanks to Robert's link for the pdf file.

You probably didn't get a print manual, just another DVD with the important info buried (that's what I got with my regular 500). Order the print manual for your car right away.

You'll want it for all the neat features, hidden in the EVIC, and mundane setting of a billion radio channels. Once you know how the features work, it's a breeze, but without the manual it's a pain to figure out.

I don't have a laptop, so the DVD wasn't much help as I couldn't take it to the car to do several things at once. Gotta have the PRINT manual.

Luckily the printed manual is so easily obtained with a quick PM to FiatCares and it arrives quickly too! It'll be interesting to know what the deal is with the charging procedure although I'll never own an electric FIAT here.

Tweak, you left out a bunch of information. Pretend everyone is completely new, and give full info. That makes it easy for new people and also anyone reading can see how to do things.

Luckily the printed manual is so easily obtained with a quick Private Message (PM) to FiatCares and it arrives quickly too! You can find FiatCares profile at this link: http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/membe...1368-FiatCares You can find the profile of anyone by clicking on 'Community' and then 'Member List'.

Sort of like that. Because I didn't know about the 'Member List' until recently. LOL!

The manual details the process and also shows the meaning of the LED's on the plug.
Please feel free to PM me for help
I can walk you through it after we touch base via a PM.
I'm in the SF bay area.
    Dead easy.
No need to suffer in the slightest
Also let me know if you don't know how to PM, its not hard either.
    Forza Fiat.

    Hi Danny
You should see some leds on if you plug it in, even if the car is not connected I would think it would show red or something.
If it seems dead you can check the car at the nearest public charge station.
Make sure the key is not on also, I think a light would come on the dash if you tried to charge if the car was on.

The forum works so well I figure it isn't too difficult to figure out and when I return to this thread if there was any more question about it I'd offer assistance as needed. I have often provided a link to the profile for FiatCares but the search function for that name returns the results quickly and easily...just playing catch up trying to read every new post sometimes I will obviously miss a little detail but feel enough is given to allow for the end result to work out fine. Had I not fallen asleep last night in front of the PC I wouldn't be trying to catchup as much. Thanks for the assist!

I went to the dealer and they plugged it in. It worked. I think the plugs I was using at work were disabled. I think I am an idiot sometimes with simple technology. But I did try several plugs...just none at my house.

Anyhow, it works. And I really like this car so far.

LOL! Glad it's working. I was all panicky at this end.

Have you tried the Fiat smartphone app? If you can get it to work, other people need help with it.

I posted what I could find.

Say, did you get a print manual or the DVD or both?
