Cranks fine but no start after sitting for a few weeks http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/showthread.php?39649-Cranks-fine-but-no-start-after-sitting-for-a-few-weeks&goto=newpost Mon, 19 Sep 2022 19:44:40 GMT
Ok i had the car on a battery tender for the past 6 weeks and the battery is new. i get in, turn the key, it cranks healthily but doesn't start. I wait and try it a few more times, using the gas pedal it finally starts and no issue from then on. i found an old post that says:
"The tech told me that this is a real issue with the hydraulic lifters draining of oil when not running and then needing to fill up before a successful start. In essence he said that the engine is turning over but there is no compression because the valves are open. He also said Fiat is working on a programming fix to cure this but that there is no official service bulletin out yet."

Has Fiat come out with an ecu update or a fix for this? i also found this video someone posted so its seems it pretty common
