I haven’t talked about it here yet as it’s not a FIAT product, but now that I’ve rediscovered this side of the forum I’ll mention it now. About a year and two months ago I got my first car, a 2002 Toyota Camry SE with the 2.4 engine. Great car and it was a hand me down. Not without its problems though. It had 180k on it, and the paint was in horrible condition (not a big deal). But there was a bigger problem that I wasn’t told about and didn’t know until 3 months later. It burned oil. Not a little amount, one quart every 420 miles. Poor oil change history will wreck the 2AZ-FE faster than anything else if you don’t look after it. The way I found out was by having to do a panic stop and seeing the low oil pressure light on. I added oil constantly and drove it like that for 6.5 months up until mid November where we sold the car and I got something else.
Being a Toyota fan and a huge Camry fan I got another Camry. A 2013 Hybrid XLE. It is problem free and runs great. Already started to mod it (new taillights) and it drives great. I do miss the Sport suspension though. Easily 40 mpg in the city if I take it easy, no less than 25 if I really push it. 34 is my average mpg. 194 hp is plenty with the 6.7 second 0-60 time and the kickdown feature on the transmission, sometimes it feels like too much. I didn’t get a 500 because we already have one, and now that my Mom’s 500 is having some problems, I’m happy I got another Camry. Especially with my 18 mile commute to school (18 miles back home). As some of you know the FIAT is had a water problem. Twice actually. We’re going to not take it out in the rain for the next year once we have the money to replace it, we want to replace it with an NX200t/NX300; or maybe an NX300h but the Hybrid powertrain (same as my TCH) is much more expensive.
