Removed CFP top hats. Suspension quiet again! But now steering creak http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/showthread.php?39973-Removed-CFP-top-hats-Suspension-quiet-again!-But-now-steering-creak&goto=newpost Tue, 24 Jan 2023 00:06:53 GMT
I'm losing my mind over this.

My suspension has been noisy, boomy, for 3 years since my struts, mounts, and sway links were replaced. I put the CFP top hats on at the same time. All this time my noisy suspension was caused by these pieces of junk! 2 days ago everything started to clunk, squeak, and others.

I reverted back to the stock disk mounts. I flipped them over so the preload was increased, so if it ever wanted to clunk, it can't.

SILENCE! I was over the moon.

Now when I turn the steering wheel to the right with a bit of quickness, I get a creak/groan for a bit of steering lock. What the hell??? Tie rod?

I verified that the top hats don't turn with the steering. Nor does that bolt. So I am at a loss here. Please help. 27,000~ miles, 2017 500 Abarth.

Tire Recommendations- 205/40R17? http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/showthread.php?39969-Tire-Recommendations-205-40R17&goto=newpost Sun, 22 Jan 2023 16:05:43 GMT
Just turned over 50,000 miles on my 2018 500 Abarth. It's a daily driver- no autocross .... yet. About half those miles are on my winter setup (Blizzak WS80's), the other half on the OEM Pirelli PZero's which are pretty well pooched. Seriously considering the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's. Anyone have any experience with these, in particular wet weather performance? My other choices are sticking with PZero's or possibly Michelin Pilot Sport AS4's- I had Pilot Sport AS3's on my previous 500 Sport and was very happy with them. Any thoughts/ recommendations are appreciated.

The Blizzaks are also at the end of their lifespan- it's going to be an expensive year for tires ....

Throwing out some feelers on a sale. http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/showthread.php?39945-Throwing-out-some-feelers-on-a-sale&goto=newpost Sat, 14 Jan 2023 17:23:47 GMT
Due to some life circumstances, the old aging process it's time to start looking for a more practical car that is easier for me to get in and out of. That being the case I'm considering selling my 2017 pearl yellow (sorry I don't recall the fancy Italian name for it) Abarth. This car is adult owned and driven and the speedo shows under 28k on it. The engine is stock, it's never been driven hard, oil changed every 5k, air filter twice too, also cabin filter, I have had the headlights and tail light shaded, but not the lower driving lights. As you can see in the photo for the front of the car it has a partial bra with the scorpion on it. I also have a new set of Iridium spark plugs and at least one extra oil filter and air filter which will come with the car. The tires have less than 6k miles on the (Yokohama's) and I replaced the battery about 3 months ago. ( I have all the receipts of everything done. )There is a very small peck mark in the windshield, and the lower rocker panel on the passenger side, you know the ones that pop out, well yeah it's popped out a bit and it's just a slight different color, fading maybe, I don't know. This car has a clean title (I own the car) and it's never been wrecked, Carfax has all the info, I know because I checked it. Ok, I'm thinking of selling it for $17,995.00 The range I found is a low of $15,995.00 retail to $22,995.00 on the high side. Mine falls in the middle for $18,700.00. Oh, there is no navigation and no dual climate ac/heat, so I guess it's just the regular option. Thoughts from Y'all and thanks. A few pics attached and I have many more. Lastly, Mod's if you need to move this to the For Sale area as it might get better results, please do so and thanks.
