View Full Version : 2013 Abarth - Trip meter reading more than odometer

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed any discrepancies between the trip meter(s) and the odometer mileage ?

Since I bought the car new I haven't reset the trip meter. I just recently figured how to look at the trip meter...

After looking at it, both A and B of course are the same, but, they are reading slightly more than the actual odometer. :dunno:

As an example I noticed the odometer is at 867 mi, but the trip meter reads 868.3 mi. Once it hits the .6 the odometer will increment another mile.

I called the dealer about it and they weren't sure what was going on. They said I could bring it in for possible re-calibration. They also suggested I test with a GPS for accuracy of the readings to verify if it needs re-calibration.

First question is, anybody else who hasn't reset their trip meter, are you also getting discrepancies ?

Second, would actual calibration of the odometer screw anything else up ?

Lastly, would I be better off just resetting my trip meter and not let the dealer mess with the odometer?

I know it's a very slight discrepancy but I just find it odd..

Any input/advice/suggestions would be much appreciated...

Thanks in advance,
