View Full Version : Epic fuel economy run

500

I took my first (mini) trip in the 500 today to head off to my favorite reflection spot a mile (literally) above the city. On my way back down, I realized I wasn't ready to head home and decided to see what the best possible fuel economy I could get would be. After a 14 mile descent, here's what I was averaging:

While seeing 99.9mpg on the screen for 20 minutes is simply magical, it's not sustainable after one runs out of mountain. So I pressed on to see where things would start to level out, and after about 70 more miles:

By the time I got home (another 50 mi), I was still pulling in 58.8mpg. I'm simply staggered by the epicness of the fuel economy and to be starting to level off in the range of 19mpg better than what the EPA's rating is... is just amazing.

Has anyone achieved similarly epic numbers?
