This looks like a good compromise between the standard 500 and the Abarth, if I didn't already own a Fiat 500, I'd consider this one:

The article says it offers the same chassis upgrades as the Abarth, but this is incorrect. The 500 Turbo uses the suspension set up of the 500 Sport. They are missing the point of the 500 T. It is for those who want the comforts of a 500, but not the extremes of the Abarth. It is a 500 with a healthy dose of grunt.

That's exactly what I'm looking for

I'm not sure which one I'll buy. The T can be modified I'm sure to get around 160 HP like the Abarth but may have the turning circle of the regular 500. I like that. There are more colors available and (sport?) choices.

I'll wait and see.

The 500T is what the Sport should be.

I agree, I wish it was avialable last summer when I bought mine. I'll be curious to see what colors they offer, and rather they will have a cabrio version avialable.

Does anyone know if you can get the spare tire option with the T? Or is it "spareless" like the Abarth?

Yup, the spare is an option on the T.

I just posted the complete list of standard and optional equipment on the blog. Check it out.:-)

What it really is, is the Euro Abarth, without the graphics.

What we get as the Abarth is the Abarth Esseesse (SS) in Europe. The Esseesse package inludes the bigger turbo, more power, bigger brakes, suspension upgrades, 17" wheels (I will grant they are optional in the US).

However we get the Abarth Punto Evo's Multiair powerplant, while Europe still gets the T-jet. Finally for once!, we get something "better" than the original version.

The Euro Esseesse Kit also does not come with the larger Garrett Gt1446 Turbo, they are tuning up the smaller ihi turbo to 160hp.

Again, our Multiair version has way more potential for 225+hp.
