Ok, I love the Abarth. So far 800 miles, gas milage around 28, not great, but acceptable. Here is my "big, but minor concern and annoyance... the ARMREST"

Is it me alone? The armrest appears to be short in length. Everytime I place my arm in it, there is a cracking, or squeaking sound. It appears to lack structural rigidity. Obvouisly, there is no storage.

Any aftermarket suggestions? Anyone else share my concerns as well?

28mpg? You're getting better than me... :onthego:

In regards to the armrest... have you had the dealer examine it? Personally, I find it difficult to do 2-3 shifts with the armrest and ended up not using it while I drive, so I'll have to see if mine does the same with more use.

If you aren't concerned with the back cup holders (why would anyone be) you can get the Armster. Its made for the Euro Spec Abarth but fits on the NAFTA one as well.

I have yet to drive an Abarth, but if the armrest is a source of annoyance for me I will definitely be getting one of these.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the arm rest annoying! It reminds me of my freshman year dorm room bed.. :devilish:

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the arm rest annoying!

After her first ride y wife refused to ride in L'il Enzo until I installed a wide arm rest. I like the added storage for myself

FYI my 500 Sport had the same issues with the armrest, dealer was awesome ordered a new one and replaced it,

2 weeks later, same noise, I think its the way the armrests are designed, going to look into the armster if one is designed for the NA version...

I think I only put the armrest down once in my car. For me, it gets in the way of driving during my local stop and go commute. However, when I did my 500c review (here (http://www.fiat500usa.com/2011/05/2012-fiat-500c-review.html)), I did a considerable amount of highway driving and enjoyed using the armrest when combined with the softer riding, more comfortable Pop.
