We are also financing our car and since it is closer to arriving, also thinking about this. I am guessing the 0% and 1.9% from FIAT is not being offered on the Abarth... need to ask the Sales person. But I will start to work with my local bank to see what rates they can give us.

I purchased a Fiat Sport from Safford Fiat of Tyson's Corner Virginia (near Washington, DC) about a month ago. I got 60 month, zero interest and no down payment financing. I don't know whether this kind of financing is an overall Fiat promotion or what. It's a great deal, so check it out at your local studio to see what is available. My financing is being handled by Ally Bank, as arranged by the dealer (and Fiat). Ally Bank resulted from a reorganization of GMAC during the recent financial crisis.

In Canada there's no discounted rates for the Abarth. Fiat Finance is 4.99%.....

That is one heck of a rate! That is my plan, to stop by the Bank and the Credit Union and see what rate they can give me.

The 0% doesn't apply to the Abarth. I'm planning to look at either my bank or look for a credit union to apply. Most of the time car dealerships finance rates are so-so, correct?

I would go to a Credit Union and a bank. When you go to buy, take those numbers in an see if the Dealer will beat it. The last car I bought that dealer was able to get 1/2% lower rates than I could...at the same bank. Go figure.

My wife had an offer of 2.72% percent from her credit union. The Studio GM said he would match the credit union rate. Done deal.

This wasn't for an Abarth, but for the 500Pop; I talked to my Credit Union first and it was going to be 3.94% based on my credit score, etc. Got 0% from the dealer. They were running a special at the time but still wasn't expecting to qualify since my fico is decent but not perfect.
