Which did you pick and why?

I went with cloth seats. I've never liked leather seats, theyre too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. Also being vegetarian for 15 years spending 1 grand on leather seats would be almost hypocritical.
Do the leather seats weigh more? i know thats often the case.

I have a Nero with the red and black interior. Cloth is just fine thank you.

Cloth! Leather never made sense to me. They look great brand new but they show their age real quick with cracks unless you condition them regularly. Also I live in FL so too hot in the summer, and they dont feel good on bare legs. Also the cloth pictures I seen look amazing!

Black leather with red stitching, just looks great! I'm not a fan of the black/red leather seats at all though.

I would like to see some good photos of both.

Cloth. It looks like polyester, and that lasts forever. Leather cracks too easily, is cold in the winter, hot in the summer + I've had it in my cars for about twenty years and I'm tired of it. I chose the grey (black) and ivory cloth seats so they wouldn't show dirt in the seat and lower back over their lifetime (leather shows dirt, too).

I chose cloth since the leather is smooth and in my current car it doesn't help keep me in place during hard cornering. The opposite, in fact.

I might have gone for the leather if it were suede, but that's also $1000 that doesn't make it go faster. =)

I should specify, this is aimed at the future Abarth owners.

Cloth! To hot during the summer with leather- especially with the sunroof option. Third degree burns are not cool.

For our second Abarth, we will go with cloth but only because we plan on installing the Sabelt sport seats, so no sense in spending the extra $$ on the stock leather units...

Here is a picture of the back seat when you order the optional Rosso leather. There was a question as to if these back seats are leather. In my ride across the desert, the Fiat Exec made a phone call and confirmed they ARE leather. As is the little cap that covers the instrument panel. Cool!

The leather options get slippy and seat squabs can sag and have often been the subject of conversation on many forum. The colour leather options also only cover the front seats with the rears being black. They are defiantly leather, a friend of mine showed me his new A500 the other day and opening the door to get the car out the garage you could smell the leather.

The cloth on the other hand is a nightmare to keep clean and stains bad with rain water marks and drips from wet/ damp clothes.

Bianco with Black leather for us, for basically the same reasons that wachuko said. Two of our last three cars have had leather and I don't care to have another car without it. So what if it's crazy hot and sunny here in Florida....right, wachuko :)

Cloth here as I'm putting in the Sabelts. No need to spend the extra dollars on leather - the Sabelts are expensive enough! The cloth seats are pretty comfortable (didn't have a leather equipped ABARTH the show to compare to though).

That's my game plan, the Sabelts look amazing, and the stock seats look horrible. But I can't seem to get much solid info on the Sabelts. I'm talking to TMC about getting some shipped here from Europe, but they say that it might not work because our US Abarths will have weight sensors and an active head restraint sensor (which the European car does not have) that will have to be bypassed. If I get any more solid info, I'll be sure to share with everyone!

Fiat500USA, since you know everything about Fiat, can you comment on getting Sabelts in the US? Will it be possible through dealers? I need info!!!! :congratulatory:

In one of the videos the FIAT spokeman mentions trying to bring the seats over to the USA...

I just spoke with Chris (Fiat500USA). I'll post a new thread right now specifically about Sabelts.

edit: thread is live.

Thanks Chris! Yep going with cloth. I don't like how they don't match the front.

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think I've seen a good pic of the cloth seats.

Can someone post one?

Gotcha! So the rear seats for the red ones is the same as for the black ones... oh...

I agree. I can't imagine anything was saved (money or weight) by not upholstering the rear seats in the same manner as the front leather seats. If you're going to spring for the leather, I would want the look to be uniform front and back.

I'd previously had an email exchange with TMC as that's where I'm planing on ordering the Sabelts from now that my ABARTH order is in (going to give their tuning kit a go as well). It was my understanding the Sabelt kit includes the 'plug' to deal with the side air bags as well as the the different speakers.

I'll respond in the Sabelt thread as well.

So where would one purchase said Sabelt seats? I personally wanted cloth, but inadvertently ordered leather and changing configuration would delay my Abarth 3 months.

I would love to install the Sabelt seats and either sell or store the original seats.

Thanks.

TMC Motorsport in the UK will ship them here. It'll be about $3,300ish including shipping, and they aren't 100% sure they will be direct plug 'n play for our US cars.

They are gorgeous, but the price and fitment is a concern. Even for an aftermarket company, considering the thousands of $$ it will cost to bring seats in to just check out and the typical small profit margins, I personally don't think it is too viable, but you never know. Maybe we'll have better luck with Mopar.

Then again, I just remembered my buddy paid something like that for MOMO seats, so that might be the going rate.

I realize this post is quite old, but maybe someone can chime in. I notice in this photo that the driver's seat bottom cusion appears to be adjusted at a sloping angle. I see a lot of gap at the back of the cushion (where it meets the upright portion). Is there perhaps a way to adjust this angle that I've missed? Or did they change this feature on the 2013 Abarths? Thanks!

I think you are looking at a Euro car, the center console and pics posted above suggest it is not the NA model.
