View Full Version : Has anyone dropped the headliner in their car yet?

I'm looking at a spring project coming up. I want to drop the headliner to add some dyna-mat to the inside of the roof. With my new roof mounted bike rack, there's quite a bit of wind noise. It's livable, but I was thinking if I added a layer of dyna-mat to cancel out some of the noise, it would be that much better!

It looks like the plastic pillar trim pieces will have to be removed to get to the headliner, i'm a little nervous messing around with those since the airbags are right there. Does anyone have any advise/experience with doing this?

Messing with airbags is something you should leave to professionals, in my opinion. They can be dangerous of you're not in the expected position when they deploy.

Contact a local body shop and ask them about the work you intend to perform. They can give you an idea of what's involved and whether or not you'll want or need to R&R the curtain airbags.
