"I am, decided to place the 500 side stripes on my pop. The dealer offered to do the graphics right there for an additional $600. I said **** no and went on to ebay. Found the graphics on there for
$57 shipped. I thought I would share my experience...
Just to let you know this is quite easy if you have patience. Also if you have done tint then this is practically the same thing. I started out with some masking tape, a spray bottle with a little rubbing alcohol, dish soap, and water. Did a wipe down to clean any dirt and dust. Sprayed some on the area to work on and proceeded to spay the adhesive side of the sticker. Placed it on the car and used the bondo spreader to squeeze out all the water and bubbles. Sprayed more on the masking to get it off. It kept lifting but I kept at it (this is where the patience come in!)
2 hrs total time invested from prep to clean up.

Looks good IMO! And I saved $543!! Lol!

That's great and that's also the right price.

Also, tape stripes should be available at auto parts stores and body shop and paint supply stores.

Looks good!

Sadly my Sport came with ugly red stripes.. BUT the dealer will be installing the black replacement for free (as soon as the stripe come in)!

So, you sprayed the STICKY side with water? Is that correct? Why? Wouldn't that cause the adhesive to not work?

You want things to be slippery at first to be sure you get alignment correct and squeeze out any air bubbles. As it dries the adhesive comes into play - just like tint. That's why you are not supposed to roll your windows down for a few days.

freaak,
Would you like to say where on ebay that you found them?

I'm not sure if anyone ever responded to you but you have a couple of options. A general search tonight for "Fiat 500 stripes" turned up a couple of decently priced results. Even cheaper (and more varied) versions can be had by jumping over to ebay.co.uk - the car has been out for a long time over there and there are some neat designs we don't have easy access to.

I ordered my Abarth without stripes since I didn't want the mirror caps. I then purchased Abarth stripes for my car on eBay for $25 including shipping. The company sent me a dud set (too short) so they sent me second set right away no charge even though it had been about a month since I bought them (they arrived before my car). The stripes are well made and just take patience to install, anyone can do it. At $25 a set, even if you screw up once and have to order a second set it's still far less than the dealer and you get to tell everyone you did it.
