Has anyone hardwired a radar detector in their 500 yet?

I have both Valentine 1 and Escort units, and I never travel without radar protection.

I've done installs in my last 5 vehicles, but I always had the benefit on an on-line how-to.

Wondering if I'll need to "pay it forward" and be the trailblazer here, or anyone has traveled this path yet?

I'll be putting one in mine shortly and will be making a how to video to be posted on youtube.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Wondering if it's worth spending the bucks on a Bel STi-R Plus or just go with an STi Magnum and have it visible, but portable between vehicles. But I definitely think a Blinder is in my future. Not that I speed a lot, but it happens sometimes.

Can't take the Passport 9500 bumping and rattling against my windshield, suction cups coming off, etc, so I've ordered this:

In theory, it should work. I've successfully used the Blendmount product in a 4Runner and a Mazda 3, but they don't work on mirrors with very short stems. Since the Abarths is short but still a rod, it stands to reason this might be the trick.

Hmm, interesting. I like the mounting concept, but I don't think I'd like having a detector mounted there (too visible, especially from behind). I'm going to have to look around in the car to see if I can figure out a decent mounting location.

Did anyone install Escort Passport 9500ci on Abarth? If yes, where did you mount display and control module?

Thinking of getting either 9500ci or K40...
