Hooray, a new direction for marketing without a celebrity. Just folks, like all of us. I know it won`t please
everyone, but my wife and I both thought it was excellent.
Now, if Seduction gets unleashed at the Super Bowl....look out Studios.

This was previewed at the Abarth launch last November. I'm working on getting a copy.

They have been dropping hints that you'll see more of the car in future ads.

Did the Abarth seduction ad run during the Golden Globes? Or did a different new ad run?

Ciao.

I thought the ad during the Golden Globes was much better at promoting all the variations of the car, and much less on promoting an established "star" who really doesn't need the promotion all that much. Now we need to get Ricky Gervais into a Fiat for the next Golden Globes commercial next year.

Chris - As always, thanks for the post! I think they are finally getting somewhere! The ad is decent. It emphasizes a fun, different and "liberating" ride in a variety of "flavors". This is a great re-start! I would have tweaked a couple of things, but for the most part I think they did very well!! Forza FIAT!!!!!

To be honest, I'm kind of indifferent about this commercial. Its not bad, but then again nothing really stands out about it either. It just seems kind of "eh" or whatever. I do agree though that the voice over sounds a little odd too.

I do like the commercial a hell of a lot better than J- Lo for sure but, like someone said, the voice is too creepy. With narration like that I was expecting a bunch of zombies to come out and start dancing to Thriller!

Worlds better than J-lo, at least we know what is being advertised. However (you knew there would be a however), I have to agree that the narrator sounds peculiar, like Shadow Stevens on a talk show or an old Movie trailer. Also, when he says "from membership in the status quo", I had to replay it several times because it sounded like "FOR membership in the status quo" which is the exact opposite. I'm not sure why they went with first person either. A car (or company) is not an "I", it's a "we" or "they".

In other words, it's no "Seduction" but much better than watching J-lo pimp herself & the "Jlo car" & shows all the 500 models. FIAT may want to redo the narration...

Oh, and I was unaware that there were no people over the age of 30 in the USA buying or driving FIATs. Surprised me....

Cheers

Hi,

I guess one possible small negative to the commercial is that it really seems like it could be for anyone of maybe half a dozen cars. If I didn't know it was going to be a Fiat commercial I wouldn't have been surprised if the car that eventually gets shown was a VW, Subaru, Scion, Mini, Prius or such. The whole "our car is different for people who are different like you' thing really does seem to be almost kind of a generic concept now-a-days.

Just some thoughts

The ad just doesn't stand out for me either. I personally don't sense any uniqueness as I do with the car itself. As others have said the voiceover doesn't fit well, and has a 1950's sci-fi horror movie feel to it.

And has someone has said earlier, focusing on the under 30 crowd may be an error. This is a great urban car and superb for retirees in automatic transmission format.
