I believe this article has old info..could of course be wrong, but think this is the Abarth variant of the Alfa Romeo 4C. That Alfa car(in matte red) can be seen in many places on the web, but here's one that actually covers this possibility.

The cool thing to me as an X1/9 owner is that Fiat may also make a variant...so they'd be the Alfa Romeo 4C, the Maserati version, the Abarth version and the Fiat version. Why does the Fiat version excite me? The Alfa is coming as a coupe (definately) and a rumored soft-top Spider version, but new pictures of the prototype (in silver) shows that this mid-engined beast could possibly be made into a targa top. Now when I hear a mid-engined Fiat sportscar with a Targa...I immediately think "modern X1/9".

I can hope...can't I? :)
