There is a new Technical Service Bulletin out for the Fiat 500c:

NUMBER: 23-037-11
GROUP: Body
DATE: September 14, 2011

SUBJECT:
Water Leak At Rear Window And/Or Damp Carpet In Trunk
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves disassembling the rear headliner area to make adjustments to the
convertible top material.
MODELS:
2012 (FF) Fiat 500 (Cabrio)
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience a water leak from around the rear window and/or damp
carpet in trunk area.
===============

This takes about about a half hour to do and involves repositioning the top material around the rear window.

The TSB's and the Service manual are here. (https://www.techauthority.com/en-US/Pages/ItemListing.aspx?CatID=3092)
Currently, they require an online subscription.

Has anyone had this done? Did you see what they had to do with respect to the rear headliner. This one scares the h-ll out of me as I had a water leak issue with one of my past cars and it never got resolved and the car stank forever due to moisture. I cannot handle this as a problem again and am close to canceling my order because of this one. Is there a series of VIN numbers that the TSB suggest are affected?

Thanks

Max

Hi Max,

The bulletin doesn't specify VINs but it looks like a simple repositioning. I drove 2 500c Cabrios during some horrendous weather and they stayed watertight.
