After some research, I settled on the Classic Soft Trim (CST) (http://www.classicsofttrim.com/leather.php) seats for the Pop. Looked at the Mopar / Katzkin seats and liked the CST seats better. Why? CST seats are two tone, Katzkin are all one color. See this earlier post (http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/showthread.php?3620-Leather-seats-that-look-like-the-OEM-Lounge-seats-or-OEM-Lounge-seats-at-nice-price) for pictures. I understand the brown seats in the post were from Katzkin. They might have been badly installed but the stitching is not up to par. Plus the CST examples (http://www.classicsofttrim.com/show-cars.php) have leather backs that are flat, not puffy like the brown Katzkin seats (http://home.comcast.net/~wolfe12437/fiat02seat.jpg) in the pictures. The Katzkins remind me of my 1965 MGB seats (http://www.sportscarshop.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/1965-mg-mgb-mk-i-blue-bucket-seats.jpg), so they seem out of place for the modernized Fiat 500. Lifetime Warranty (http://www.classicsofttrim.com/pdfs/LeatherW_CST_2007.pdf)for original owner with CST. Katzkin has a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty (http://www.katzkin.com/faq/). Lastly, I like the embossed 500 logo. I know you can do that with CST for the nice price. Not sure how much it would cost, or if available, from Katzkin.

Will be getting Bright Red lower sections with Black tops. Plan to have them emboss the 500 or 500C logo in the Black top. Cost is about $1100 for front and back seats, arm rest and red side panels. Dealer and I agreed to skip the headrests. Dealer says the leather headrest covers looked like shower caps anyhow.

I also learned (duh-could have walked in a studio to see the difference) but the Pop seat (http://www.autospectator.com/uploads/Fiat/2007/New500/NewFiat500_seats.jpg) has different foam than the Lounge seat (http://0.tqn.com/d/cars/1/0/p/R/2/ag_12fiat500_frtseat.JPG). I'd been trying to find a 3rd paarty leather company that had a pattern that matched the Lounge, but ultimately found out that putting in Lounge-like seats would entail changing out the foam. Probably cheaper to buy a Lounge and swap out the automatic for a manual transmission.

In case your interested. Here's the patterns for the seats from CST and Katzkin.

Here's the color choices I was looking at with Classic Soft Trim. For final selection, I visited the studio and they had leather swatches. We found a Red Pop and were able to look at the different Reds and Blacks. Final Choice was Bright Red and Black leather from my Rosso Cabrio with a Nero top.

Ciao

Nice! This is a fantastic post for those of us who'd love to buy the sport and have something other than black seats. :-)

You should really consider the Katzkin interiors. I'm not sure where you got the idea that they only offer single tone. Katzkin offers it in a number of two-tones with options like perforation and contrast stitch. And they have a ton more colors. They're actually the official leather interior of Fiat and MOPAR. It says "single tone" at the bottom of that schematic to differentiate it from the other schematics labeled two-tone inserts, two-tone centers, two-tone body, etc. Here's a Katzkin Fiat brochure

I am guessing the brochure is showing lounge seats. I spent a lot of phone and email time with the Katzkin staff in California. There are different patterns for the pop vs the sport. I did ask about getting the lounge look in my pop and was told the seats are different. I will post pictures when they are done so you can compare to the brochure. Ciao.

Appreciate the info. I too am scared to death if I go custom the installer will botch it up. I haven't talked to Katzkin personally, but I was thinking of going with the Sport with black leather and instead of the grey cloth, have it replaced with red alcantara. I wonder if they can do that while keeping the original Fiat black leather. I fear shotty workmanship, I've seen too many shows like Unique Whips and Pimp My Ride and those guys really botch up the interiors. I figure if I can keep the black leather with the double stich and just replace the inserts with alcantara I might be safe.

Actually, this is the first time I've gone for after market leather seats. I should get the car this week. The Classic Soft Trim guy has been very responsive. I did chicken out a little and dropped doing the red in the seats and went with all black and an embossed 500 logo on the top section of seat. Also they are making a dark grey (Graphite) side panel leather piece - so it will better match the Fiat Pop door color, which is a darker grey vs true black.

I'll post pictures so you can make your own decision. So, far I am pleased with the sales rep for Classic Soft Trim. Now - keeping fingers crossed - that they look good.

I realized I hadn't uploaded pictures of my Classic Soft Trim (http://www.classicsofttrim.com/leather.php) leather seats. CST worked with my dealer, so I paid for the seats when I picked up my Cabrio. I had option to go with two tone leather but, with Rosso/Nero, I thought red seats with black top would have been too much red. Could have done red top on black seat, but didn't want to look too non-OEM. So, went will all black with the embossed 500 logo. Could have done a stiched 500 logo with contrasting color thread but thought embossing looked better.

Sorry about the poor Iphone photos but you'll get an idean. I do like the seats a lot. See below for the Classic Soft Trim pattern for the POP. Note, the seats are different between the pop, sport and lounge. Talk with CST rep to see what the pattern is like, if you don't have a Pop.

you know that the Katskins leather seats are made specifically to accomodate the side airbags in the seats.

did you ask if the CST's are?

seems so

The pattern also says on it "with airbags".

I think it would look cool too with just red stitching and a red logo. I was going to go with cloth either way, though. Leather never makes it through life-with-dog either way.

Now if they would just come out with the heated seats! Jeez!

see my sig for stock-locking leather upgrade seats on my pop - unfortunately it's still a Pop seat (not bad) where I would have loved the Lounge seat (more sporty)

so far so good with dogs, yeah it's been less than 1 month :)

Katzkin catalog shows flat and "Gathered" as options. Katzkin is Factory approved and has factory warrantany. Be careful messing with side air bag seats. If I splurge $2k for leather I am going with Katzkin
