That's a good question. From the looks point of view the front is fine (hard to tell from the angle of the pics, but in person it looks OK) but the rear can do with a drop. The problem is, as you know, the NY roads. I'm reluctant to lose suspension travel, plus the higher spring rate is a concern. I'm waiting to see what 500 MADNESS is getting in and may grab something there.

I can't seem to post pics. Either copy/paste or insert image tab. It keeps asking for a URL.

^^Copy and paste won't work.

If you use the image tab, the image needs to be hosted somewhere like imageshack etc and then you link to the image URL.

Otherwise- when you post, choose "Go Advanced" rather than the default "quick reply".
Scroll down and choose "Manage Attachments". Follow the instructions and upload your image.

SJMST used the "attach" option in the post above.

Wow - I want to buy your dealer. I've gotten such a list of lies from mine (everything from claiming the next closest dealer was closed to lying about inventory not being available at other locations to whether I can order a car) that I've about given up. I wrote them all down, called Fiat customer service, and am ready to toss my hands up completely.

It shouldn't be that hard - I walked in the door with exactly what I want and pre-approved financing but they are determined to sell me on something in their inventory.

That's a great looking color. Oddly, photos of the real cars in the real colors look better than when you "paint" your Fiat online. At first, I didn't think the blue or the copper looked all that great. Then I saw them at the dealer and my color-choice got much more difficult.

In "person", they look even better. Congratulations!

If all goes well when it comes to 'maybe another Fiat' time, I'm getting this color. You can't get Pops or Sports in Bianco Perla with light seats, so by that time perhaps they'll have come out with light seat covers but I REALLY like the pearl white.

Maybe an Abarth :) since I could do orange-y seats too...

Haven't seen Azzurro yet!

One question, has anyone requested that their dealer NOT install the font license plate holder? Corvette guys do it all the time. I think it should be pretty easy to tell them not to.

Just curious.

Yes the stipe is metallic gold. I have been asked several times " who painted the stripe". It's hard to tell even when you are up close especially since Nero Black is also a metallic paint. It is not the exact color of the soft top but its close.

I just caught myself wondering whether this particular dog would fit properly in the car or if you'd have the ears-flappin-out-the-sunroof thing going on...

Cute nonetheless.

Hello, all! My wife and I have been talking about buying a Fiat 500 since 2009... So in November 2011, we did!

I went to Towbin Fiat in Las Vegas, NV. THEE car that we talked about buying was sitting on the lot! I had to buy her.

Love at first site..

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l169/lxmooney/Random%20cars/LolaonBlackFridayside.jpg

So here's a cruddy Iphone pic when I got back from my glorious test drive..

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l169/lxmooney/Random%20cars/LolaonBlackFriday.jpg

We had the car for 4 days and 211 miles, then this happened..

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l169/lxmooney/Random%20cars/Lola003-1.jpg

So we took the car to the body shop, $1,800 worth of work later. New window, all new moldings and body work and paint. My wife was driving it home from the body shop yesterday and the check engine light came on. so I'm going to research that in the next day or so. We really love her but it's been a rough road so far. I will keep you all updated because I'm planning on doing some stuff to her soon pending the wife's approval.

Thanks for looking!

Nice 500, but it deserves a better garage! Why are you keeping CRT monitors and such?

talindsay
02-02-2012, 09:29 AM
Thanks, that's the second stall of my two-car garage, which has in it: a Triumph Bonneville, a Genuine Stella, four bicycles (including my road bike), a bike trailer, a tagalong bike, a table saw, router table, drill press, dust collector, a few work tables, a computer (that CRT works, believe it or not), as well as a lawnmower and a wheelbarrow. I considered this side of my garage to be "full" before I bought the Fiat, so was really, really amazed when I was able to squeeze it in - even a Mazda 2 wouldn't fit!

Come spring, I *do* plan to work out the space to accommodate the car a little better; in the mean time I revel at the car's small dimensions.

Thank you very much! I tend to buy lighter colored cars and my last 5 were either white or silver. I wanted something different this time, so went with the verde oliva. I get lots of comments on it and have not seen many other brands in this shade, so its kinda unique!

Me too! I want one. Was it a difficult mod?

I love the way it looks! Combined with my larger wheels, it really gives my lounge a more sportly look! The spoiler came unpainted and required glue/opoxy for installation, so it went to a local body shop for prep, paint and install. They did an excellent job! Paint matches perfectly with no drips or runs and they warrant their workmanship for as long as I own the car. The spoiler is made by Black and the cost was higher. But I wanted to get a good quality spoiler and this one definately fits the bill! You can get a fiberglass replica prepainted on e-bay for a couple of hundred cheaper. However, I purchased one of those for by previous car and it was definately cheaper for a reason!

My dog approves!

I clicked that pic without looking at the text - my first reaction was "Jeeze, Louise! What hunting season is it in VA and why did he post that?" Looks a little like some kind of a doe. Then I realized it was a dog and I settled down. :dog: Nice looking Fiat and, after I focused, nice doggie. Did you get her something at Subway, too?

Forgot to ask - What dealer and salesperson? I'm Alexandria and Chase.

If my boy was still alive he'd definitely look like a small deer in the back of the car. He was a pretty red fawn. Kids at Halloween would always see him at the door when they came for candy and say "Look mom, they have a deer" :D

Salesman was Marcello at Safford Fiat in Tysons Corner.

Thanks.

First pic is on Mill rd Calverton, last on River rd Yaphank. What part of the island are you from?

Port Washington. I will be having my car show the Run Out East at Montauk. May 12th. Hope you can make it.

Marcello the Fiat salesman? Makes sense. The mechanic at Alexandria is Tony. :encouragement:

Stafford has a great selection now if you know anyone looking.

Found myself sitting at Subway looking out the window at my Fiat. So I took a pic :D

I sure am glad that I'm not the only one that does that! I find myself staring at my car the same way! Also wanted to say that your four legged friend looks mighty comfy in the back and is a real cutey! Oh, and the car is great to! ;)

Yes! Lounge model. How long do you have to wait for your Abarth? Hawaii just received it's first 3 Abarths this Wednesday. The woman who ordered a Nero, cancelled so it is sitting in the showroom like that Italian model, tempting me!

With no FIAT dealer in Nashville TN [and plenty of miles to fly anywhere in US] I shopped for my 500C via the website and found the deal I wanted in Carlsbad CA. Flew to San Diego on a Friday in late February, caught the "Coastal" from the historic Santa Fe train station Saturday noon, Salesman picked me up at their station and I test drove and finalized the deal that day [scored the 0% 60 month promo].

Drove the Pacific Highway for my first solo and by Sunday afternoon I breezed through Palm Springs and toured Joshua Tree [killer Sport Mode roads] before hightailing the rest of the 2000 miles home via Kingman, Flagstaff, Gallup, Albuquerque, Tucumcari, Amarillo, Oklahoma City [all along Route 66], Fort Smith, Little Rock, Memphis. People weren't shy about approaching to inquire about this car.

Great start and now that top-down weather is here the driving is even better.

I've been in trucks for the last 13 years so I prefer the 500's upright seating to most sporty's laid back seats. It also prepared me for the road feel, though I can understand how some wouldn't want to make a cross-country road trip if they were used to a cushiony ride. But when the roads are good and windy it really is a sweet mode of travel.21402141214221432144

We picked up our 500 Sport in Tempe on Saturday. 200 miles to the closest dealership but it was worth it.

We stopped at a friends house in Tucson on the way home to snap a picture.
