When I instead a USB card containing MP3 music in my new 500L the unit read the card and I assume build a directory in its memory.

Now that I have added some new songs to the flash card they do not come up.

I assume somehow I need to erase the stored information so that the new will be created.

Do not know how I could do that. Any idea's?

Welcome to the forum!

I don't have a 500L or the U Connect system, but from looking at the U Connect manual, it sounds like the car should be reading files directly off any USB memory card/stick that gets plugged in:

Inserting USB/iPodŽ Device
Gently insert the USB/iPodŽ device into the
USB Port. If you insert a USB/iPodŽ device with
the ignition ON, the unit will switch to USB/
iPodŽ mode and begin to play when you insert
the device. The display will show the Artist and
Title name, and index time in minutes and
seconds.
Browse
Touch the Browse soft-key to select Artist, Albums,
Genres, Songs, Playlists or Folders from
the USB device only. Once the desired selection
is made you can chose from the available
media by touching the soft-key. Touch the exit
soft-key if you wish to cancel the browse function.

It should be done automatically. When you change the contents of the drive, even just adding a few songs, it should re-scan the drive when you start it up. I have 128 Gigs and it takes about 15 minutes to scan my drive each time. But once it is done, it does not need to rescan until I add or change music.
