Hi, fresh on the forum, my question, is there any issue on putting 17 inch wheels on the 500E?

28727Idk if they will fit. Itís probably going to decrease your range and be a harsher ride with lower profile tires. I put 15Ē konig dial inís on mine.

You'll see a significant range hit. From what others have reported there isn't much room for extra tire. The 185/55R15 stock tire has a 23" diameter. A 195/40R17 would be 23.1" diameter and *might* fit and it's a very uncommon size tire.

Thanks for the welcome, is there less room than the Abarth? Maybe 16's would work better. Any concerns with the brake regenerating system?

Some 500e owners are running 17" Abarth wheels, and in general anything that fits a gas 500 will also fit a 500e.

Here's one with a set from Madness: https://shop.500madness.com/fiat-500e-cid412/wheels-and-tires-cid446/wheel-packages-cid449/fiat-500-custom-wheel-tire-tpms-package-competizione-v2-17x75-matte-black-finish-toyo-tires-pid1829

Does anyone know why the front and rear wheels are sized differently? And is that something to consider when replacing them?

This will be useful in case you aren't aware of it.

185/55R15 - stock size tire is 23.0" diameter

Outbackbill reported in the snow tires for Minnesota thread that a 195/60R15 tire rubbed on the inner fender while turning. This would be a 24.2" diameter and 10mm wider than stock.

Fiat 500 Madness sells their kit with a 205/40R17 tire which is the stock Abarth tire size. This is 23.5" diameter and 20mm wider than stock.

So it sounds like you could get away with some more width, just not much more diameter.

205/45/17 fits without any clearance issue. I had that size on oem abarth wheels.

You will see a range hit. My one way commute is 42 miles so I didn't want to deal with the loss of range vs my 15's.

My abarth wheels are actually for sale for anyone interested.

We had Abarth wheels on ours... fit w/o any issues.
