Possible Oil Pressure gauge issues? 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo

Hi guys! So I have a 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo. I took it to a local Chrysler dealer just for an oil change (it always starts with that doesn't it?) because they sent me something in the mail saying they are now able to service my Fiat (yay?) and because my local Fiat dealer closed down. Anyways, after the oil change, the light to tell me I need to change the oil is still on. I didn't think much of it because it's happened before and everyone always says it will go away on its own after 50 or reset it my pressing the gas pedal three times while the car is off. I waited 100 miles and tried to reset it, still on. Waited a day, then when I turned my car on today, the check engine light came on (of course!). Took it back in, they thought it was the gas cap, nope. They came back after reading the check engine code and said it was something about the Oil Pressure Gauge 1 and/or 2 (can't remember if it was referring to both or not.) After that, they told me they cleared both the change oil reminder and the check engine light, and that there really should be no issue. And ideas on what could have gone wrong? Used wrong oil? Didn't tighten filter? Gauges going bad? This car only has 40k on it and I've never had any actual issues that weren't caused by a technician. Thanks I look forward to some input!

Couple thoughts: I doubt the oil change reminder and the check engine light are related. The oil change light is basically a timer. On the older 500's the procedure for resetting the light, is to turn on the ignition, but don't start the car. Right after turning on the ignition, press the gas peddle down eight times before :30 has elapsed. Shut the key off and the light should be reset.

If you had lost oil pressure, you would get a clear oil pressure warning, a separate warning. That would be very bad, because low oil pressure will tear these engines up in a matter of seconds. If you aren't getting a oil pressure warning, especially at idle, you're probably fine. If you start to get a oil pressure warning, take it back to the dealer, they may owe you a replacement engine.

Welcome to the Forum. I would first, on level ground.....when the motor is cool, check the oil.....check it twice, make sure it is full, but not over full. If it is full, keep an eye under the car, or looking as best you can, in the area of the oil filter housing, making sure no oil is leaking....and after that, drive it...like normal....see how it drives....check the oil again, after it cools off on level ground. If all is ok, at that point....I wouldn't worry too much about it....as stated above, if it was no oil pressure, you would know it right away. That's what i would do, if it were me. As long as no more codes appear, it should be fine. I had a 14 L with 48,800 on it when i recently traded it....no problems. I always re-check my cars after oil services....or, any services for that matter. I will check my brand new car, all the time.....at fuel stops, ect....better safe, than sorry. Good luck.
