I searched and noticed no one had posted how much fun it is to change the rear tail lamp bulbs on the 500e so I was thinking of posting this as an FYI.

My fiat said right rear stop lamp busted (But it was the left Rear!)
I always change both as the package comes with two bulbs anyhow. (BTW Walmart is cheapest at $5 for 2 but you can get a pack of 10 at O'Reilly for $8)

You need a whole fleet of tools! Man. (But only about 10 minutes if you have all of them)

1 10mm Ratchet (To loosen the nut because it's in there tight)
1 Phillips Screwdriver (To help speed the nut out after loosening, or just use the ratchet)
1 Flat head Screwdriver, to get the electrical connector off the little 'tab'
1 T25 Torx driver - To remove the inner cover.
1 Towel, to clean all the mess under the lens..haha
1 Glove, to change the bulb because you don't want your sweat / fingerprints on a new bulb.

And once you get the inner cover off, it tells you on the inside what kind of bulb to buy. I thought that was neat.

Did you know the P21W/5W can go in 'backwards' and not work. I didn't until I closed up everything....Darn.

Thanks forby! I just swapped out a bad brake bulb. It was super easy with your guide.

Followed the same approach. With your instructions and the youtube video it was easy. Would have been more challenging without them -- thanks!
