I'm interested in doing this one, but will be changing jobs and possibly moving this year, so no guarantees, but I will look into making it fit my schedule.

In an effort to broaden the appeal of our event to those who may not want to drive the Devil's Triangle on Saturday, we have an option for you, a Poker Run. European Auto Garage in Knoxville is hosting the Cars & Coffee that we will visit on Saturday and are coordinating the run. They have invited as many of us to participate as we want. It is for charity so the more the better.

If the Devil's Triangle is not your thing, this is for you. Details are below Poker Run (https://www.facebook.com/events/599041130282638/). This event is not officially part of the FIAT on the Dragon but we are supporting it and hope that you consider doing the same.

If this is something that appeals to you for the Saturday activity, please let us know. I will have a sign up sheet at check-in or you can just sign in at the Cars & Coffee.

For those who may not know about the FIAT on the Dragon, check out Facebook for the latest information. I will get around to updating the website as well once I am closer to the registration. Registration is open and limited to 150 cars.

There are lots of videos on YouTube as well, check them out.

For those who have attended this event in the past, please share a story here about what make it fun. Each year I love hearing experiences from folks from all over. This event has become the pilgrimage for FIAT owners twice per year.

Spring 2016 was my first FOTD experience. I ended up going solo, which was fine. It was great to meet all the folks that came from all over the US and Canada. I was worried about not making friends, but then I remember that I drive an interesting car and I in a place full of interesting people driving interesting cars. Needless to say, it didn't take long to make friends. It was quite the site to see over 100 Fiats and quite a few Alfas out on the lawn. The roads are challenging, but it needn't be intimidating. You drive at the pace you are comfortable with. We all became family, and we keep each other safe out there. At the end of the day, it was great to share a beer with my new friends and swap stories around the bon fire.

This year, I'm bringing my family with me. My 5yro son loves riding in my 500T and likes it when I drive fast through the twister roads. We couldn't get in the Tally Ho, but we have a nice suite down the road. I can't wait to get out there with my fellow fiat enthusiasts, and shred some asphalt.

I'm registered and looking forward to it! As a first time rookie, do I have to put yellow tape on my rear bumper?

The registration page suggested bringing a two way radio...are we talking CB or FRS type radio?

Who's coming to the Dragon and from where? I will be making the trek from Little Rock, AR. I have this crazy idea of bringing a cooler with some local brews found in Arkansas. We have a few different breweries out here that make some decent beers. It would be cool if those that are into craft beer would bring some local stuff and we can trade, share, whatever, around the bonfire as we share our Dragon experiences. So, who's down for that?

FRS (I guess) type. Just a regular walkie talkie. When we went we borrowed one, and my wife really enjoyed listening to the guys from NY banter back and forth. Wish we could make it out to another Dragon event...but that 16 plus hour drive to/from really wore me out. Still...my friends here could tell how much I enjoyed it when we got back from how much I went on and on about it.

I'm happy to announce I will again be sponsoring the Fiat on the Dragon's Saturday Drive & Dinner with Bon Fire party! Brett and his team are once again putting together another fantastic event. Have fun everyone and make sure you post pictures here for those of us who can't make it down!

If anyone has to pass through Atlanta to get to FOTD, here is a nice back roads route to get there. It's about a hour longer than taking the interstate. But you get to drive Blood Mountain and The Dragon on your way to the Talley Ho.

The FIAT on the Dragon week is upon us and many are making their way to East Tennessee for a few fun days in the mountains of driving. This will be our largest FotD to date and we have made adjustments to help make things go smoothly. We will be leaving in several groups and will rely on maps and directions, not a main lead car. With 150 cars attending, it is impossible to rely on a lead car for directions. Familiarize yourself with the routes and try to stay loosly with the group. If you get lost, enjoy finding your way back.

If you arrive on Thursday, try to get registered as quickly as possible at the big house. Registration on Friday morning will be at 8am-8:30am

Remember, there is not good cell service (if any) on some of these roads so plan ahead. You can go to Google and download the region that we will be driving in ahead of time and use it with your smartphone. Use the GPS coordinates on the maps provided to help guide you.

Be sure that you attend the driver's meetings on Friday at 8:30am and Saturday at 10am at the Cars & Coffee. The first cars will leave the Talley Ho at 9am on Friday and 7:15 and 8:30am on Saturday. We cannot all leave at once so be patient and we will do our best to get everyone out. Enjoy the breakfast snacks & coffee sponsored by Auto Ricambi.

This year for FIAT on the Dragon, we have more people and more cars than ever. We also have more classic cars joining us. This being the case, we have developed 6 shorter trips that can all be done at a very relaxed pace. These drives focus more on the scenic than the spirited.

Use the QR code and the printed coordinates with your GPS and always know how to get back to home base at the Talley Ho Inn. Don't be afraid to get lost, that is part of the fun.

We will have maps available upon check in but feel free to download this pdf and study it yourself prior to the trip. The QR code will scan the map into your phone on Google maps.

I don't even look at weather reports. In the mountains where we are, it can be clear on one side, rainy on the other. Plus, we have had rain on at least one day on every FIAT on the Dragon and have still had fun. I think that it is what it is and provides for some cool photo opps.

Hopeful of nice weather but rain or snow/ice it is still a lot of fun. Recall temps around 50 on the bottom of the mountain then rain as we drove up till near the top where it was snowing and in the 30s...then reverse down the other side. :D

Once again, I had a wonderful time seeing old and new friends on the Dragon. We had a great event and record number of cars with excess of 150 FIAT and Alfa Romeos in attendance. Here are a few photos, please share what you have, I didn't take as many as I would have liked.

Also, jump over to FIAT USA and ask them where they were this year. FIAT is missing an opportunity to really connect with owners. #whereareyouFIAT

Two videos on the Dragon. Sorry I have no interest in editing them. Definitely the best driving experience I've ever had. Rocked 3rd the entire time. From my experience the Dragon is driven at speeds right between 2nd and 3rd. Decided to stay in one gear and focus on being smooth and learning the road rather than trying to rev match a downshift before a turn only to find out I need to upshift immediately.

Had a great time meeting and talking with new people. New wheel/ tire/ spacer setup performed amazing. Need to roll the rear fenders which rub over high speed bumps or tight switch backs. Also need to cut the top studs on my front mudflaps because rub under braking so I took them off.

Not as much as I'd like to. I have a Classic Schwinn Cruiser for around the neighborhood, a Diamondback Cyclocross for road riding and a mountain bike built by NordicTrac for off road (it is actually a very nice bike!). The last time I rode off road though was four years ago. Two years ago I raced in two Triathlons. Lately, I've been riding my Schwinn most of time, but I am doing a ride in a few weeks that is 80% dirt roads, so I'll be on my Diamondback for that.

My first "mod" to my Fiat was to add a tow bar so I could haul bikes to the trail head.

First of all, thanks to all the sponsors that help make this event possible. Special shout out to Chris for the great BBQ dinner Saturday night!

Great to see the classic FIATs and Alfa Romeos that joined in this time around. I had a chance to run with the classics group after stopping to take some photos, and the old school cars can run hard and have fun just like the young FIATs.

Nothing like a warm fire at the end of a beautiful day.

Thank you for this great pic! Oddly enough, Holly and I don't have many shots of us together. Great to hang out with you again and hope to see you again in the fall.

Have Dates been set? I don't know if my wife will agree to two every year... but I can always try!

I doubt that they'll have the dates up anytime soon. When they do get set, it'll usually get posted in the events section and on the Facebook page. I signed up last fall and couldn't make it.

I don't want to speak for the organizer but the fall event tends to be very low key. The idea being to try out new roads or destinations before rolling them out at the spring event, one of the fall events being the only time I've gotten my car airborne. Fun road but I don't think it will be used for a main drive at a spring event any time soon.

Couldn't make it to the Fiat on the Dragon event this year? Our friends over at FOD sent us a report on their Spring Drive for those who missed out. If you aren't familiar with Fiat on the Dragon, it is a family fun driving event that is the perfect place to enjoy your Fiat, Abarth or Alfa Romeo. The event takes place at one of the most beautiful areas in the country and on one of the best http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Fiat500USA/~4/E2QsoT6ZGhI

Read about it here... (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Fiat500USA/~3/E2QsoT6ZGhI/fiat-on-dragon-celebrates-5th-year.html)
