Hi everybody,

I've been working on a major update on the site to improve and fix issues and just make it a better experience for everyone. That means hiring people and such, so I would ask if you have an Ad Blocker, could you disable it when surfing the forum. It would really be appreciated. We only have 3 Google ads plus some vendors ads here and that helps keep the site going. Obviously clicking an ad that is of interest to you is very helpful, but even just allowing the ads to display on your machine makes a huge difference.

Besides disabling ad blockers, just searching the forum, reading posts and coming to the forum from a Google search are easy ways to support the site and it doesn't cost you anything. While you are at it, don't forget to mention us to people that don't know about the forum. It's always great to hear from new members.

Also speaking of vendors, the Fiat community is tiny compared to the Honda/Mustang/Pickup truck market, and the vendors put their blood sweat and tears into coming up with products for us and they all do a good job taking care of us. Keep them in mind when you need something.

We've got some exciting things in the works this year and I can't wait to introduce them. As always, thanks for visiting and spending your time here.

Have a happy new year!
Chris

I run several different blockers, and Chrome as a rule....just to protect my machine. I have disabled them all, for this whole domain.
Looking forward to 2017 on this site, glad I joined!

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Thanks Chris for keeping this up for us. Plus adding more gas to the flame to both keep interest and new converts.

That other FIAT500 site is rubbish compared to this one - I’ve been a member for three months and my posts STILL don’t show up! Like Wikipedia, how much would a realistic, yearly donation from each member offset the need for ads?

Thanks guys. Much appreciated!

As far as donating, I shy away from that because it really isn't necessary if people would just disable their adblocker. The sites traffic is good enough to generate sufficient money to cover expenses that way and it doesn't cost anyone anything. Before the rise of adblocker we were ok. Also, living off of donations is not something I'm comfortable with.

As far as the ads, there are only a few to maybe four Google ads on a page. I don't think they are too intrusive so hopefully they dont annoy too much. I dont even look at them LOL. But just having them displayed throws a few cents in the kitty. If someone clicks on one of interest so much the better and that's another few cents. The rise of ad blockers really impact sites. It is something most don't think about , but unfortunately the internet isn't free to host stuff. For example this site is hosted by Liquid Web, a top tier hosting company that takes care of FedEx, Homedepot, etc. And the costs are astronomical compared to the old days. I moved the site there so I could offer the best service for our members but it comes at a huge cost.

But all that will be handled if we can just whitelist us.

Thank you to everyone for the consideration

Chris
