I recently purchased a used 2014 Fiat 500L Lounge (automatic) and I've noticed a clunking sound coming from the front right wheel - noticeable at low speeds, over speed bumps and turns at low speeds. I brought it back to the dealership I bought it from (not a Fiat dealership) and they said its the lower control arm. Since its a fairly expensive repair through that dealership, I called my local Fiat service shop and they said its highly unlikely that its the control arm, but they want $150 just to look at it. I would lift the car and inspect it myself, but I don't have any equipment. Thoughts? Has anyone else here experienced this issue?

I have not had a problem with out Fiat but I have experienced this in 2 other cars. What it ended up being was a ball joint. Not one holding the wheel on but one of them was from the Sway Bar attachment to the strut and the other was from a tie rod end. Both of these were easily fixed once found and the noise was only noticeable at slow speeds - probably because it isn't loud just noticeable. What I did to find the first one was using a mechanics stethoscope I had someone thoroughly rock the car side to side while I put the end to different parts of the suspension until I found the culprit. The second was under warranty. The third time I took it in they finally listened to me and found the problem.
