View Full Version : Avg 6.1 per 100km mixed cycle

Just had to post my happy experience -

third tank full since new. 1200km total distance and still half tank left.

mixed city driving, plus 110-138kmh on the dual carriage way, plus a big trip to the coast - 1000m altitude drop down the mountainside and back.

so I decided to put in 98 octane, as I believe the increased purchase price of the fuel is offset by the improved performance of the fuel.

two weeks driving the 500, and then I went back to my 8V S3 - and yes the obvious instantaneous power on tap, but I went back to the 500 today with a broad smile.

Engaging, thrusty linear performance, comfy, agile and full of character, PLUS it is SO economical - even when booting it to redline, it does not soak up fuel like the Audi. The Audi 'can' do 5.9, but any semblance of 'spirited' driving sees it dive to 14-15l per 100kmh.

Today was 500 day and I loved it. Nippy (enough), frugal and fun.

Happy place to be.

Congrats on the new car! What engine option do you have?
