I decided to try a different color on my factory 17 inch wheels, I used rustoleum peel coat in brilliant blue. It turned outn nicely, I think if I recoat them I'll add a clear coat for a little more gloss.

What's that gross white stuff in the background? Some kind of ugly beach sand? I live in Florida and don't recognize it...
Otherwise, nice job.

Ya I'm here in ohio @ 7 degrees berrr. Nice look, something out of the norm. Did you dip your wheels with the tires still on?

Looks Good.

Have you ever used Plasti Dip? My friend used it on his truck rims and it came out great but didn't last. Now he could be a trash driver and that's why the rims look terrible.

So I guess my real question is how durable would you say the Rustoleum is?

I didn't like the texture of the Rustoleum.
I can say my daughters car (my old car) has the whole top done in Plasti-Dip and it's almost 4 years.
Still looks perfect like flat black paint.

The blue looks great. I agree on adding a little more gloss next time. Good idea to do your shoes at the same time.

That blue really does look good on the white for sure, mix in some of the black centercaps that 500 Madness sells and your all set!

Nice. How many cans did it take to do 4 wheels?

Looks good. I just had mine powder coated but did a test run with plasti dip first to make sure I would like the look. Be careful on painted wheels though, I have had an experience where the plasti dip apparently had a chemical reaction with the paint and it ruined the finish. Shouldn't be an issue with any powder coated wheels though.

I only dipped the front of the wheel, I masked off the inside of the wheel and the tires so I only ended up using less then 2 full cans, so quite the bargain IMO considering how much it changed thel look.

cool!
That's what I was wondering, how much paint for 4 wheels, and how many coats?
