Why was the reason that we couldn't sit in the car at the la auto show. All u could do was take pictures

Because there are an extremely limited amount of cars in the country and they have to preserve them, plus, the cars are pre-production and may not exactly represent the features and quality accurately. Let's say a knob is loose on something, the next thing is someone gets on the internet and destroys the car.

Thanks for that, but I reckon Dan and I both would like to see how tiny that rear window is. It will be hard to go back to a Miata-sized rear glass after driving a Volvo hard top since 2007. ;) I've seen a couple of rear shots with the top up...yep, that's a small window(not uncommonly small, just small)

More images of the blue Prima Edizione car as seen in Philadelphia. You will see the pics of the underside rear suspension and an engine picture that shows the 1.4 motor in the rear drive configuration. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153949052373410.1073741867.757728409&type=1&l=3f46714777

I believe the new 124 will have a back-up camera and also perhaps rear park sensors, blind spot warning system (that shows in your mirrors) to ease any rear vision concerns....-These are all options on the X and think they will be available on the 124.....

One big thing between this and the miata for me is does the 124 come with a true limited slip like the club miata. Yeah i know you can buy an aftermarket one, but Id rather have a factory warrantied mechanical diff instead of an open diff thats electronically controlled.

I hear you about the limited diff - but there are aftermarket diffs out there which are quite nice. I have a wavetrack on my GTI and it handles the 400+ hp & torque with aplomb (however I can still spin through 4 gears if I want to and don't modulate my power carefully). The big thing I noticed with the LSD & a superpro anti lift kit (ALK) that I put in was that I could pull through sharp corners at 20 mph greater speed than previously without breaking a sweat. At first I thought "boring" doesn't seem so much different....but then I noticed the (much greater) speed I was pulling through those same corners...live axle can be fun too (with RWD more than FWD) for really hooliganing....but I prefer being able to put my power down - particularly in (out) of the corners...

Here's the only 124 Spider at Southern FIAT in Norfolk VA.

On the showroom floor it sure looks great.

Also in the same room was an Alfa 4C, and an original FIAT 2000 Spider.

I "work" at Notre Dame and after work Friday evening I decided I had enough light to get a couple pictures of the 124 on campus. Heres a few of my favorites. Hope to get more elsewhere on campus soon.

Here's mine.. Just plucked it off the showroom floor at Fiat USA of Palm Springs (http://www.fiatusaofpalmsprings.com/) with 14 miles on the clock and at MSRP less $500 Factory Cash. It is a Lusso in Red with the Premium Package.. If anyone's worried, I'm 6' - 1" and 2xl but have short legs so I fit. Time to listen to my wife and loose a few pounds though.

FIAT of Austin has 4 124's on their lot. This is a 124 Lusso Auto Transmission with Pearl White paint.22696. I took it for a short test drive on the highway. It was very tight in the cockpit for my 5'11" 190 lbs. body. Also with the top up I had to move the seat forward to get enough rake on the driver's seat or my line of sight was the headliner. The build is very solid and well appointed. The top goes up and down with almost no effort. I'm not sure I'm ready to trade in my 2012 Abarth 500 yet.:confusion:

hotleie1970, when did you visit them? I called this morning and they said they only had 3 left. Just wanted to see just how many they sold since they got 11 in on 7/19. Either way, Fiat of Austin is selling them like crazy!

Congrats on your new ride- that's one drop dead gorgeous automobile! Not sure if it's the color or the Lusso wheels or the combination of both but the looks put far more expensive cars to shame.

You had the exact same reaction to the car/color combination that my wife and I did. I originally was ONLY going for a test drive and to see the blue color. My first color choice from photos was the bronze color but once we laid eyes on the Grigio Argento in the sun, we knew that was "one drop dead gorgeous automobile"! My choice of wheels will always be one that is easy to keep clean and these wheels looked good and also met that criteria. We made the purchase site unseen from a Lusso that was still in transit that had the premium package. Since this is our 3rd Fiat purchase made at the studio, we were treated very fairly with the trade in value of the 2012 500 Lounge Espresso cabrio and no hassles with dealer tack ons.

You have much better photo skills than I do. Too bad that Lusso photo shoot was not my ride instead of the dealer car.

Wow, hard to believe it's been 15 years since I last climbed out of our '91 Miata! (Almost 9 years of ownership between my DW and myself). It's been Volvo C70s since(on our 4th one).
I may have to drop by the dealer and see if I can get in/out of the FIAT...just in case :)

Do Not drop by for a only a test drive. That was all my wife and I were planning to do and now it is sitting in our garage with over 700 SMILES on the odometer. SpinningSmiley

Nothing wrong with your photos ItzBitz- in fact I think they show the 124 in its best light, showing off its curves to best advantage ... the way a person using the car would look at it. I wasn't sure about the 124 at first; some of the earlier press photos made the design look too busy for me but after viewing owner photos like yours, let's just say I'm smitten ... enough so that I'm going to take an actual look at one this month.

Itís a shame that more and more convertibles are leaving the market.
