I am in the process of changing out those halogen bulbs to HIDs I got. I got the driver side on with no issues but the passenger side is a pain the you know what!!! I don't think a baby's hand could fit between that gap between the back cover and the 2 pink tanks of coolant (or whatever that is). Has anyone else tried changing their HIDs on the headlamps for the 500E? Did you have to remove the headlight or front bumper or those 2 pink tanks? How did you do it? Where did you mount the ballast in the 500E?

My hand still hurts thinking about trying to take off that passenger rear lighthouse cover.

Has no one changed their headlamp bulbs on both sides to HID? I'm a little shocked no one has any input here.

I guess I'll try taking out those 2 pink tanks tonight and hope I don't mess anything up. =)

With the 500e many lease them rather than buy so far less would make such a change. I'm pretty sure it's been done but no one on here is posting about it here currently. Maybe someone will chime in or maybe you'll be one of the pioneers for this project. ;) Hope it works out well for you.

This is how I did it on my Prima Edizione (500 Sport). Maybe it will help on your 500e: Fiat 500 Accessories: Installing the BFxenon HID Kit (http://www.fiat500usa.com/2011/09/fiat-500-accessories-installing-bfxenon.html)

Well I got both HIDs changed today. Took a few pictures and I think I'll write another DIY thread for those who are wondering the amount of work needed to do this. Stay tuned.
